I saw what you replaced, didn't see any testing? What testing have you done? Make sure battery has a full charge?
When the problem is ongoing, have a helper crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, check fuel injector pulse. Any applicable trouble codes?
If you have the spider fuel system, that system is noted for problems.
You need to check the crank sensor, this controls tthe injector pulse. If it will attempt to start with alternate fuel but not on its own, it sounds like the injectors arent pulsing, so your not getting fuel. Try the crank sensor first.
Have you checked the fuel pressure? There are two different fuel pumps for this vehicle and if you installed the wrong one, for the 4.3 VIN Z instead of the pump for the 4.3 VIN W, Which it sounds like you have a VIN W, It won't start. Also I've seen the harness go bad in the intake that runs the injector. Have you checked for injection pulse at the plug to the injector.
Check for gas or spark problem on the engine. Check that starting fluid does start the car for a few seconds before dying, indicating a fuel delivery problem, like a fuel pump or circuit to it.
If the car won't start with starting fluid sprayed into the intake, then the ignition system may be at fault, or engine timing.
I'm assuming it won't start now with the new battery.. they do sometimes flood, but not usually unless there's a regulator problem, etc.. but try starting fluid into intake 1st. If it starts and runs, then proceed.. You'll have to start by checking if the fuel pump is running with key to ON 1st and foremost. the power to pump. If so, then check for fuel pressure then power to spark/coil, etc.. then spark then other.. even Temp sensor switch...(check wiring diagram in Haynes repair manual) too much to check from there on if no start still
I'm not an expert, just tryin to help from much experience with Chevys
check the 2 wire molley plug going around the front of the intake down into the injector i have found many of those tend to overheat on the plug just cut it and splice the wires back togehter
it could be a fuel pump they are quite common on the chevy trucks and SUV's. If it has a "Vortec" engine which it probably does, they run whats called a poppet nozzle fuel injecter that requires i think no less than abaout 53 psi of fuel pressure to run, you would have to put a fuel pressure guage on it to be sure and they are quite expensive
