now a real answer , not guessing... just facts, if above true.
1:shorted wires to the pump (end to end ,long)
2;wrong amp fuse. not spec. (the one blown)
3: a shorted pump.
4: fuel pump relay shorted.
5: some fuses on cars (most) run other things too, not just a pump (not this case, it seems
no fuse number stated or engine size)
6: tank dry and this burned up the pump as all do. like that. no gas.? in tank.
7: pump clogged.and impeller jammed.
now Ill read the FSM pages on topic for you.

there is no such fuse, in uSA 2004,
its gets power on both engines from the IG1-b1 fuse
fuse eb f15, engine bay = eb
why not tell
that was 3.2
next the 3.5DI (a totally different setup)
ill pretend that next
if eb12 fuse blew (engine bay fuse f12) marked pump
that means, the pump is bad or the pump controller is shorted.
so unplug pump, if fuse holds its the pump
if not?, its the controller
here is proof on the 3.1

in real shop we see all facts
no engine was stated so cant wax savvy much.
we see ahh the pump runs ,for 5min then blows the fuse.
we then scope the (lab scope)the pump + wire
and look at commutator hashs.(noise)
we can see shorted motor armatures, easy
even see pumps that work now, but will fail soon.
pulling the tank is not fun.
so we check pump currents (ammeter)
and check the controller if opted.
and all related parts, for sorts (looking works)
on many many cars, see connectors run hot
to pump even mid body
turn brown,the black,then melt and its now shorted, good pump.
caused by corrosion. and real poor factory connectors then. (poor or no water seals)

Bad fuel pump

fuel tank has to be removed to remove fuel pump sender unit. make sure tank is near empty so its not as heavy to remove
some models have two round rings on top of tank, one is sender unit (for gauge) the other incorporates the fuel pump
others have one round ring which is both in one
remove the one near middle section of tank
be carefull not to bend float arm for sender unit if twin type (sender & fuel pump in one)

the fuel pump and radio are not on the same circuit, most liokely the fuel pump is shorted, that is the most common cause, get under the truck and disconnect the fuel pump connector at the tank, if the fuse doesn't blow then u need a new pump.

Hi, the fuse comes after the relay and only powers the pump. Therefore, the likely problem is your pump motor having shorted windings, sorry. :o(
There is a way to test the pump before replacing, but you would need an ammeter. Disconnect the pump connector and use a jumper wire from battery positive in series with a high current or shunted ammeter that can handle at least 20 amps. Connect the meter to the pump and run it just long enough to get the amperage reading. The pump motor is on the gray wire, and make sure the black wire is grounded to get the pump to come on. The current should be less than about 15 amps. A good shop can run this test for about $40. The cost of a new pump will be many hundreds, so you might want to be sure it's bad before replacing. A new pump is $270 at Autozone, and labor to replace the pump will be several hours. Some shops will discount the price of testing the pump if you have to pay to replace it. Better you use correct fuse and note there is no loose contacts between the fuse and its connection
More likely coming from the tail lite area. Check all bulbs, replace if the filament looks black, even if it works. Next look underneath car for wire(s) hanging or broken and grounding out on chassis or other metal. Must be something shorting the circuit to ground or a bulb drawing too many amps.
