Front wheels not turning in 4wheel drive 1996 dodge dakota

Check and make sure the transfer case is adjusted right If the front end was broke you would know it. Jack up one front wheel and put it in 4wheel drive but not lock and see if the front drive shaft turns if it doesn't you need to adjust linkage or if it's electric make sure the signal is getting to the transfer case. If it only locks front and rear jack up one rear wheel also and do the check. Most people with 4 wheel drive don't know they have two wheel drive One in the rear and one in the front unless you ordered a locking dif from the factory they don't come this way. Then you would have 3 wheel drive

I need to know how to fix the lkage on the transmission< wont shift out of first until it gets to 40miles an hour

Put shifter into neutral position, have someone loosen the bolt on linkage at trans. Move shifter back and forth then stop at neutral position again and lock bolt.

Hello my transfer box and lock box on the 4 lo imposible to change the way my truck its a 2001 dodge dakota 3.9 v6

Your bound up. You can usually get it unbound by driving back and forth. If you can't get into reverse then go to a small hill drive up a little ways then coast back down. don't drive in 4 wheel drive unless it is slick out as it can be a little bit hard on the running gear. try going forward very slowly then put on the brakes kinda hard. this may help release the bound up condition

2000 Dodge Dakota 4 wheel drive hub wont budge

These can REALLY stick solidly in place. I usually get them off with one of two methods: A big slide hammer attached to the wheel studs using a hub adapter or by pushing against one of the hub mounting bolts using my biggest air hammer with a flat hammer bit in it. You will wreck the head of the bolt doing this so you need to have another one on hand if it comes to that. I turn the bolt nearly all the way back in so there is just an 1/8" of room between the head of the bolt and the steering knuckle [to provide the maximum thread surface on which the force will be applied] and then rattle on it with the air hammer unit it moves a bit. You may need to move this bolt around to the other holes to work the hub free. Clean the corrosion and rust out of the bore that the hub mounts in before installing the new hub so it will go back in properly. Hope this helps a bit and good luck!

4wheel drive goes into 4low wont go into 4 high. is there an adj.thank you.

Floor mount shifter? Check the transmission mount first. If the mount has failed it can be very difficult to find 4 Hi because of the position of the floor shifter in the gate. There is also a simple adjustment on the linkage with a single locking bolt which may need reset.
