The air/fuel mixture on the carburetor needs adjustment - this is the only way to solve this.... No idea what carburetor this is or where the "screw" sits....

No easy fix, too many possibilities. Electrical/charging system needs to be diagnosed to isolate cause and fix.

It is running rich. How do I adjust the carb?

You don't. First check air filter, if clogged, replace. Next, is your car throwing a trouble code? Try cleaning MAF sensor with carb cleaner (that's between air cleaner and throtle body), next, replace bank one of the oxygen sensor. I would start there. The problem running rich is a little generic, and the above are easy fixes. If this doesn't fix it, come back and we will move on to the next possible problem.

Getting fault code 2196 on my 2005 mazda 3

P2196 should be set for California emission vehicle only. It is telling you that the front oxygen sensor (in exhaust manifold) is stuck rich. This would be that either your engine is truly running too rich (too much fuel compared to air) or the sensor is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced.

My mazda 1992 mx3 it runs great cold but after warm up it spits and sputters and runs rich can you help please what could it be

Hi,

This sounds like you have a faulty coolant sensor switch which is telling your computer that the engine is still cold.

Replace this and you should fix this problem.

Thanks

Jason

My 2005 Mazda 3, Engine Problems

I honestly think that it is your mass airflow sensor that either went bad or needs cleaning. Auto Zone can run a computer test on your car and diagnose your problem, and if so, they carry a special can of Mass Airflow Cleaner put out by CVR that cost around 6 or 7 bucks. The mass airflow sensor determines how rich to make the gas. This would cause the car to hesitate or jump. Hope this helps. Please leave feedback!

Running rich with white/black smoke

Black Smoke is too rich. White smoke is either steam/water vapor or unburned fuel.
Something is seriously wrong with the carburetor if it is gas. Like maybe not enough air? How dirty is the air filter?
