Check the air flow. The throttle could be stuck, choking the engine out. Or there could be blockage of some sort.
Could be a compression issue. Check to make sure those cylinders can hold some pressure. If they check out OK, then it's a problem with the timing not compressing at the right sequence.

Try removing all the spark plugs and sqirt a little oil in each cyliender crank engine over then replace plugs an see if it will start you may have washed the compression out of the engine with too much fuel if it starts try replacing the coolant temp sensor

Get a can of CRC brand air flow sensor from your local auto part store.

ECU may be getting low reading from air flow meter.

Folk use K&N may over oil the filter and coat the senor element with oil.

After cleaning, disconnect and reconnect the ground cable to clear data.

=====
Open gas cap to equalize the pressure.......just is case you soak the emission canister when topping of the fuel tank.

My Mitsubushi Space Star Car won't Start. What can I try?

spark plugs are deep in the head yet you should get all the the old fuel out first, stale fuel wont ignite and will also clogg fuel filter. you need a mix of atleast 70% new fuel even then its not good for the injecters. If its a manual gearbox a tow start is a quick fix although no go for auto's. cant be much wrong if car was fine when parked, plugs-fuel-filter and possibly fuel pump for sure. If that doesnt fix take plug out put in lead and crank engine to be sure you have spark even just put any plug you know works in lead leaving your plugs in engine just to check for spark y turning over engine looking for spark on plug good spark will be blue but any spark is good.

Car wont start what could it be and whats the most common

Well for beginners you need to find out what you are missing. It takes 2 things in order to make an engine start, spark and fuel. Find out if you are getting spark to your spark plugs or fuel out of the injectors or at least fuel up to them. Once you find out what you are missing then you take the correct action to fix that problem. I can tell you that a common failure in an older vehicle could be the fuel pump so I would check the fuel situation first. Once you find what you are missing just comment/reply here or you can email me directly at csautomotivecars@att.net and I will be happy to try and help you narrow down the problem.

It was sputtering from time to time... Had to give it a little gas this morning to get it to turn over... Came back from work...wont start cranking fine... just wont turn over 91 lebaron

well first off you want to make sure your getting fuel and if you are getting fuel then check the pressure to make sure it is were it should be you can rent them from autozone for free it got a deposit but you get it back when you return it . if fuel is good check your spark pull out spark plug have someone try to start car look at the plug if you have bright blue spark in all your plugs spark is fine if orangeish color spark change ignition rotor and distibutor cap and wires you might as well do it all if spark and gas are both good

check crankshaft postion sensor as hard starts and on most cars if there bad they wont start also check camshaft position sensor they both tell your cars pc when to fire spark and to what cylinder to fire it to

Have a 1985 buick centruy with a 2.5 seems like its loading up with to much fuel wont start.I have spark timing is good, compression good, and changed the temp sensor. tried a different maf sensor(used)...

If you have spark, and the timing is good, you are either not getting enough fuel or there is not enough compression. If you checked the spark from the spark plug wires and got a spark, try changing the spark plugs. The spark from the plugs may be too weak to ignite the fuel.

Have you changed your fuel filter? This is a very common cause of a no start condition. Have your fuel pressure tested to ensure you are getting the correct amount of fuel. Also, you could try replacing your Fuel Pressure Regulator.

Car turns over great getting fuel and spark but wont start

Spark without fuel = just spark. :) Are you getting fuel movement? You could have a bad/clogged fuel filter, bad fuel pump - could be a few things. Check to make sure you're getting fuel.

If you have spark, and fuel , and still no start, I'd first pull out the spark plugs and make sure they are not fuel fouled. Dry or replace as necessary. Do you have compression ?

1988 toyota wont start

If by adding fuel you can get it to run, then it is probably not getting fuel on its own.
