I'm not positive when they changed but the older caravans (and Chrysler products in general) used a thermostatic controlled expansion valve not an orifice tube.
Acuras don't use orifice tubes. Orifice tubes meter liquid inlet. Expansion valves meter vapor outlet. All Acura systems use expansion valves. Expansion valves are on the evaporator outlet
Depends on the make, model and year of your vehicle. Some use expansion valves and others use orifice tubes with screens on them. Expansion valves usually connect directly to the inlet of the evaporator if your vehicle uses one. Orifice tubes reside in the low-pressure inlet to the evaporator.
it does not have an orifice tube. It has an expansion vlave. You will find it near the vacuum booster on the firewall. Once the a/c lines are disconnected where they go through the firewall you will be able to replace it.
Are your asking about TXV valve thermal expansion valve for A/C system ? If you are ,yours doesn't have one . Has an orifice tube ,
The orifice tube is located in the liquid line between the condenser and the evaporator !
The orifice tube is the dividing point for the high and the low pressure sides of the A/C system. As the refrigerant passes through the orifice tube, the pressure on the refrigerant is lowered. Due to the pressure differential on the liquid refrigerant, the refrigerant will begin to vaporize at the orifice tube. The orifice tube also meters the amount of liquid refrigerant that can flow into the evaporator.
Unless you are referring to the
auxiliary A/C system for the back of the vehicle , it uses a
The rear TXV is located at the rear evaporator inlet. The TXV is the dividing point for the high and the low pressure sides of the rear A/C system. As the refrigerant passes through the TXV, the pressure on the refrigerant is lowered. Due to the pressure differential on the liquid refrigerant, the refrigerant will begin to boil at the expansion device. The TXV also meters the amount of liquid refrigerant that can flow into the evaporator.
2002 Chrysler 300 has an expansion valve instead of an orifice tube which is used to meter the flow of refridgerant. It is located on the firewall attached to the AC manifold hose assembly
#10 is expansion valve and #3 is the hose assembly..follow AC hoses from compressor to the firewall and it will take you to the expansion valve
It has an orifice tube not an expansion valve. Follow the high side line from the firewall back to the radiator. There should be a fitting a couple bends back from the firewall. Take apart the line at that fitting and the orifice tube will be inside.
raven 1g: Your car doesn't use an expansion valve. It uses a fixed orifice tube which is located in the smaller of the two A/C lines, just before they enter the cabin area of the car.
Just disconnect the line and pull the orifice tube out of the line. Be careful not to break off anything and leave it in the line.
