I have replaced one vacuum line that broke and also replaced the Throttle Position Sensor and the Idle Air Control Valve. I have black smoke now coming from my exhaust along with the stalling and hesitation. I think maybe an Oxygen sensor and my muffler may be shot...please keep posting your thoughts or outcome with this problem.

I have not changed the MAF sensor but it seems to be affecting my exhaust a lot now so I am still trying to figure it out...

Mine is doing the same thing! Its a part of the vacuum system that we are having a hard time finding! The part got sucked up in the engine...cant find a replacement part!

It could be a throttle position sensor or an idle air control sensor

Have the engine checked for vacuum leaks, that will cause a high idle speed. As a 35 year veteran of auto repair I can tell you that engine flushs are a 100% waste of your hard earned money.

The 1995 Grand Am was GM's worst nightmare. At 120,000 the transmission is going to just blatantly fail on you w/out notice. Problems with this make and model is if it was created between 1995-96 the transmission problems are goin to start. Even if you swap the crankshaft sensor, ignition module, and coils. I had one go at the mileage i just submitted. The computer also has malfunctions. It is indeed time to rid your vehicle, Sorry. Thnx 4 using fixya.com :-)

Chevy S10 Pick 1995 - Sputters and almost stalls when accelerating.

You could have a dirty EGR valve, you can re move it from the manifold and clean it with Throttle body cleaner. Might as well buy two cans, since your cleaning the EGR, might as well clean out the throttle body too.
Spray the throttle body cleaner in to the throttle body with the engine running and try to keep it at 1000 rpm and then to 1500 rpm as you clean out the throttle body and let it idle down for 2 min then turn the engine off. Then turn the engine to the run position for 10 seconds and start and let idle, ro for a test drive and hope that solved the problem, if not there a few more things we can do which will consist for tune up.
Note: Clean the EGR first so you don't burn your self since the engine would still be cool before you clean the Throttle body.
Good luck and keep me posted.

BMW 316i KEEPS STALLING WHEN SLOWING DOWN AT JUNCTIONS

at the engine, there is a small sensor that helps increase or decrease the rpm of the engine. Perhaps yours is soo low, that when you slow down, it's almost about to stop.

The other problem could be the airfilter sensor. If it's not properly fixed or if the sensor itself is a bit damaged, than the engine is not getting enough air and so, let's the engine almost go off.

Please give further details if this has not helped.

thank you

1995 tahoe desiel stalls when driving

I used to live on a farm where we had a number of Chevy diesel's in the 90-98 year range. The 6.2 and 6.5L diesel's in those trucks were known to have problems. A very common problem was with the fuel injection pump going bad, causing the engine to intermittently stall for apparently no reason during driving.

I've got no diagrams on this car but I'd check mass air flow sensor if you have one. Often they can be cleaned off and work well afterwards, or replace it.
