A c not cold specs for freon pressure

A c not cold all the time will be cold then get warm and then will go through that cycle all the time the ac is on. specs for freon pressure high and low side when it is about100 out side?

A/C work is very dangerous if you really do not know what your doing.
But a lot of things can make it not work properly. condenser fan not running all the time vacuum leak going to control panel orifice valve malfunctioning ECT.

Can youput to much freon in and what will it do


4 cans will be too much
it makes the compressor pump liquid instead of gas and that damages the compressor
it the compressor is still capable of pumping gas then it will go to high head pressures and that will switch the compressor off
you have wasted your money, run the risk of expensive compressor damage , didn't fix the leak that required the gas
The specialist ac shops are not there to take your money but to give you a system that runs without problems so use them to fix the faults and put the right amount of gas in using gauges not cans

2004 sebring air conditioner stops and starts


Low freon will cause the compressor to short cycle, when the compressor runs the pressure in the low line is pulled down and the low pressure switch turns it off. Not running the pressure builds up and turns it back on. In the old days there was no low pressure switch, with no freon to carry the oil the compressor was destroyed.

Air blows cold for awhile then blows warm for awhile all with the A/C on


Your AC system could be low on freon causing the clutch to cycle in and and out...have the pressures checked to determine the charge and if more is needed.

Air conditioner starts blowing cold air then blows warm


This is most likely the cycling of the AC unit. As the compressor pressurizes the 134a Freon you get the cold air, once it reaches a certain pressure it cuts out. If you are low on Freon it will cycle out more often. Check your freon level with a gauge to see if your within the proper tolerance. If the compressor runs for a period and doesn't reach the right pressure it will cut out to keep from damaging your compressor so it is important to keep the correct amount of freon in the system.

Hello everyone I have a 2004 nissan titan and when I am travelling down the highway the ac blows warm I have checked the freon level and it has the proper amount of refrigerent in it and the clutch fan...


Hey Wb, You say you checked the pressure and its ok. Have you checked to see if the pressure is actually freon or just hot air..(this is from a personal experience with the same symptoms) Let some of the pressure off the system while it is running..(the low pressure valve) and if freon does not immediately come out.- Just hot air..let it bleed until freon comes out .. (mine was overcharged and I had to let out A LOT of air out of the system until freon started coming out).. try this and see if it helps.. ...mine is working fine..blowing cold air 24/7 after this .. with no other steps,,,

My ac does not work properly when I add freon the ac will work well for about 5 minuted then will blow warm air hoping some one could give me an idea what might be wrong, ie what to replace to fix it.


does the compressor keep cycling on and off ? if so then it is low on refrigerant causing the cycling, sometimes you have to bypass the compressor pressure switch to stop it from cycling long enough to get enough refrigerant in the system, but of course you need to check for a leak if you are trying to recharge the unit then add a refrigerant with dye solution in it to locate any leaks, note leaks and then evacuate system amd rapair the leak source and then draw the system down add the proper compressor oil or refreigerant with oil in it. you may want to have a qualified AC repair facility do this , so they can properly evacuate and recover the refrigerant material... thanks , please rate my help...

It sounds like by adding refrigerant to the system it may be over pressurizing. When this happens it will cycle on and off.

You will need to hook up a set of manifold gauges and monitor the high and low pressures to see what is happening.

After approx 40 min of highway driving the AC stops blowing cold


The frosting of the line is normal. Did you use a gauge set when charging the unit? AND, most important, Did you evacuate the system before putting in the freon? Very important.What was your final low side reading and your final high side reading?
