There is no fuse for car stereo on fuse box.

There is a fuse for the audio amp, but this should not influence the radio cassette. If the factory amp is not installed you may not even have this fuse.

Here the fuse map.

The fuse is located on the car stereo itself, at the back of the radio. To remove the fuse you need to pull out the radio.

On a Grand Cherokee you first remove the trim protecting the stereo, then you have to undo four screws to remove the stereo.

Instructions for Grand Cherokee 2005 here.

Some model till 2004 do not have trim , and you have to act on 4 receptacles with 4 tin screwdrivers to remove the stereo.

Instructions for this model here.

Here also instructions for 2006 model (just in case)

At the back of the stereo you will find the fuse.....or the contact that is keeping car stereo on.

The fuse will look something like this, and it is plugged in a slot at the back of the radio:

In there also inspect connector and wiring , you may be able to find the contact.

Instead of removing the fuse you can also unplug the connector

Researching and typing this tutorial took time.
If my comment helped , ten please do not forget to accept the solution.

Many thanks.

The radio always has power to it - to run clock etc..

The problem is with the radio/tape deck istself..

You can try removing the positive battery cbl for several minuets & that will clear everything..

If not - it migt be time for a new radio..

I need to remove the front shock absorber on my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, 4.7L engine. When I try to loosen the top shock nut, the entire spindle turns. I cannot find a way to lock the shock...

If you have a impact you can try spinning it until it snaps.I'm not sure how much clearance you have .Is there enough above the nut for a vise-grip.More than likely you will have to smack it with a hammer (bend it back and forth),not sure if there is room to put a nut slitter on it.Or hack saw it off if you are limmited on tools.

My battery keeps draining and I have to jump my 2002 Jeep Cherokee and then it shuts off.

Charge your battery and have it load tested. If OK, check the charging system. (even if you find that battery is not good, check charging system after battery has been replaced.) Likely you will find a problem there.

Does the jeep shut off when hot and restart after awhile? This could be a crank sensor problem.

Car cassette player

sometimes to play a cassette, you got to put it in the oposite way to the tape run, depending which way your player is set inside. Try this. If it fails the load spring may be bust, new one can be got at a motor factors.
