First be sure to note the routing.
there is a tension pulley (check the diagram stiker on hood or crossmember) using a serpentine belt tool fit the correct socket on center nut of tensioner and pull to release tension. If tensioner will not move either way or does not spring fully back replace.

My 2000 Toyota Echo will not let me put on air or air conditioner idles high at low speed and at park or stop?

It is normal for the idle to increase when the air con is switched on. There is a fuse in the engine compartment - I-UP (idle up)

2002 celica no heat /overheating

I doubt that the belt is the problem as you will be have problems with the charging and probably the air con. The most likely problem would be the thermostat. Thermostats have two purposes, firstly they stop water circulating when the engine is cold so that it can reach operating temperature quickly (which also gives you warm air quicker in the morning). Secondly it regulates the speed that the water circulates. If the coolant is circulating too quick then it wont stay in the radiator long enough to be cooled therefore causing the engine to overheat, the air con turns on a thermostatic fan to increase airflow so the cooling will improve that's why the temperature "returns to normal". You will find on colder days the temperature will drop "lower than normal" with the a/c on. It's worthwhile changing the thermostat as you will find that your car will actually run a bit more efficient on fuel. Also check that the fluid in the cooling system is proper engine coolant, that will help considerably with the proper cooling of the engine not to mention reduce corrosion of parts in the system which can be very expensive to replace.

The air compressor is on that drive belt if you are getting a bad noise when the air is turned on you probaly need to replace the unit. You can try adding air compessor oil to the system and it may help.

if you are talking about that you are replacing the serpentine belt tensioner then the only way that i know is that you have to jack the engine up to get the bolt to clear the frame......been working on toyota and lexus for 25 yrs and if i can assist you any other way let me know.......let me and fixya know how i did and a thumbs up........good luck......thanks.......if you are only putting the belt on then there is a nut that is made to the tensioner that you will need to put a socket on and a long ratchet and you have to pull pretty hard to release the tension to take the belt off or to put it on.......please let me know if i can help any further and give me more info on what you need..........

Hey the water pump just went in my 1998 toyota rav4 2litre. how do i go about replacing it ? i cant find anywhere on here

Your water pump is driven by your timing belt, can not be seen with out remove timing belt cover, to replace you will also have to remove timing belt, if timing belt has not been replace best to replace it now also, timing belt should be replace every 60,000 miles. make sure before removing timing belt that you mark where all pulley gear's are at, so when you install the timing belt back on there in the same place as before you move the timing belt, no need to mark water pump gear, good luck, hope this was very helpful.

Fan belt for air con gone, how do I replace it?

there should be a release lever on one of the pulleys so that you can easily put on a new belt once the belt is on make sure the lever reingages, there should also be digram on the engine or close by to walk you through it

If you have a book picture your are screwed. You do have a tensioner but it is between air con and powersteering pullys. In front from under you can put 15mm wrenchopend with a nother for leverage pull center bolt down to release tension. simple.
