Check for vacuum leaks..get a can of spray gumout, spray the vac lines and maniflod area, when the idle changes, youve found the leak! You want the engine running and spray on the outside but do direct the stream onto the hoses, if it is a vacuum leak, the engine idle will change speed, then you have detected a leak, repair the vacuum leak and see how it runs! If that doesnt do it, you may need a new idle air control valve, it's bolted to the throttlebody. If you have one of the oil soaked air filters, change the MAF, cleaning wont work! I have done a few of these for this, and GMC has a TSB on it.If this does not do it.
Pull the IAC off and see if it;s loaded up with carbon, if it is I replace them, cleaning doesn't usually work! Use some throttle body cleaner on it

The TPS may be bad, evin though it tested good. Before you replace it try this. Clean the throttle bore and do a basic tune up. The throttle bore is the part of the engine that takes in the air. This is where the throttle cable attaches. Clean the inside by spraying the inside with carburetor and choke cleaner and using a cloth to wipe it clean on the end of a long screw driver. Then the tune up is plugs, wires and a new fuel filter. This should get you back in business. Hope this helps. Please re-post with updates or more questions. If this answers your question then please accept and rate. Good luck. Thanks cj2176.

Replace the TPS sensor. Bad place to put the TPS. Under your foot, where water and such contaminates it.

My kia has 0122 code i replaced the tps and still does the samething

While the TPS fault will read p0122 the accelerator pedal position(APP) also has a say in the code p0122. It can be low input, or circuit malfunction ==the causes-- can be wiring short to ground--TP/APP sensor--wiring circuit open, short to ground/short to positive

Where is the TPS sensor located,2004 Nissan Titan 5.6 v-8

The 2004 nissan titan is drive by wire, meaning there is no cable to control the gas pedal to throttle.
This system is computer controlled with a motor at throttle body and pedal sensors.

the TPS throttle position sensor is located inside the throttlebody . on most of these the complete throttle body must be replaced as there is no sperate tps sensor it is complete,
i would check and make sure this is the problem . GM started making TPS replacement sensors for there throttle bodies.

97 gmc siera on cold days have to dump fuel into throttle body to start, runs fine after??

look into throttle body while cranking.see if you see fuel spray.if not, low fuel pressure of pluged fuel filter. also coolant temp or tps sensor could be at fault.have vehicle sensors scan tested for values..

1992 K1500, code 22, clicking noise from throttle body, will not accelerate properly, changed TPS with no change

OBD Code 22 - Throttle Position Sensor Error (Signal Low)
The Throttle Position sensor signals the Engine Control Module as to the current position of the engine throttle valve. The current throttle valve opening is based on the driver's input from the gas pedal. The ECM uses the information from this sensor to help calculate fuel delivery and spark timing.

Symptoms:
* Extended cranking, possible no-start condition
* Lack of power
* Erratic transmission operation

Common Problems:
* A failed Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) would be the most common causes for code 22
* Testing the TPS circuit would involve checking voltage and ground from the ECM-5v is the normal reading between the ECM reference circuit and the ECM ground circuit at the TPS connector. Checking the TPS signal circuit to the ECM would involve monitoring the TPS signal on a scan tool while jumping the 5v reference and the signal circuits. The TPS reading should go from high when the circuit is "jumpered" to low when the jumper is removed.

I would change the map sensor and the throttle position sensor and check the wiring while you're at it.

I know it can be frustrating, but try that first.
