Question about 2006 Hyundai Sonata

1 Answer

My 2003 Hyundai Sonata started sputtering today while I was on the highway and then stalled. I restarted it and managed to limp it home, but it kept spitting, sputtering, losing power, and shutting off on me. Please help if you have any clue what the problem is!

Im not trying to be sarcastic, but does it have fuel delivery to the cylinders?
Test For Fuel, spark, and timing.
There is to much to explain better take it to a Cerifide technician
Or clarify the thing its doing.
How long on the road b4 it did this?
Did the check engine light up?

Sounds like the computer is putting the car in limp home mode you need to have a scanner hooked up to the computer and see if a code is set and then go from there to repair the problem.

1993 hyundai sonata has check engine light on and is stuck in limp mode and wont shift out of second gear

the .pcm puts it in limp mode and it will stay in mode until light is turned off. You need to get the trouble code, repair it, erase the codes (with a scanner that retrieves the codes), and then you will be out of limp home mode.

I have a 2003 hyundai sonata and it drinks up gas no matter how much gas i put in it or if i dont go far, what could the problem if the gas doesnt really move cause my mama and i could put the same amount...

Most likely is the ECM is in "limp home" mode. You should borrow/rent an OBD II scan tool (Autozone has tool rental iirc) and pull the codes. There will be an interface port on the driver's side under the steering wheel or near the door.

Engine sputters as the car accelerates before it is warm and today it stalled. I then started it again, it sputtered for about a minute and was then fine.

Check your MAF Sensor on your air intake you may need to replace this sensor some are cheap you can go to Auto Zone or any auto parts store to order this or take it to a mechanic and have them diagnose this problem.
Or check your air intake hoses etc if they are loose or just a little your engine will hesitate or run too lean and the engine light may go on.

2001 hyundai sonata stalls at highway speeds. Had code read and code said misfire on all 4 cylinders. Why?

dear friend- can you be more specific with the conditions and fault codes.this sounds like your TPS sensor is instructing the ECU to cut the feul, therefore there must be another fault code.

2004 Sonata stalls out for no reason then won't start

hi there, i have a 2003 sonata and my car did the same. it stalled and the engine light stayed on but managed to get going again. i took it to Hyundai and it was the crank angle sensor. it needed replacing at NZD180.00 with 3 hours labour to do it. evidently they remove the front of the engine and cam belt etc. the workshop at Hyundai did it and charged 3 hours, not sure if that was excessive or not.
