If the radio requires a code to activate it you will need to go through a dealer get the code for your specific vehicle if it is still in their data base. You will need proof of ownership and the vehicle VIN. There is no generic code you can use or a way to bypass the security system which is why we have the system to deter the theft and sell off of our car radios by that band of complete low life rat bags out there who would rather steal the property of hard working people than work for a living themselves. .

Codes are not included in the vehicle owner manuals either they are supplied to owners separately.

My 1991 acura legend, has a radio that will come on but not play

If battery power was lost for some time, the radio theft control might have activated. Look inside your glove box wall for the radio reset code. Owners manual usually contains detailed steps to reset.

You will need the 4 digit radio code supplied with the owners manual/documentation. The code is printed on something the size of a credit card and will say radio code.

Lost radio code

When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio.
The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your vehicle manufacturer's service centre and get them to enter this code for you.

Just bought 1995 Lexus from someone who was NOT the original owner, they replaced the battery and the radio stopped working..they took to a mechanic and he said the code needed to be reset. How do I find...

First thing to do is look carefully in the owners manual. A good mechanic [or owner] will write the code in either the main manual or the manual for the radio. If there is no code available, go to any Lexus dealer's parts department. Be SURE to bring your auto registration with you [to prove you own the car] The parts guy will be able to look up your radio code using the VIN [vehicle identification number] listed on your registration. Usually, there is no charge for that.
Your owners manual will spell out the procedure for entering the security code [usually 4 or 5 numbers] to get the radio working again.

My 95 Honda is showing on the radio screen the word "CODE" after we jumped in the battery because the battery died.. Now I can't listen to the radio.. What do I need to do? Claudia

check your ownwr's manual, if you' re not the original owner, as people sometimes write them down in there. otherwise, contact your honda dealer. you will have to prove ownership, but they should be able to get the code, provided it's the original radio.

After my husband changed the battery in my STS, the CD player will not work. I have 3 CD's loaded in the player. It will not play or eject.

You need enter the unlock CODE for extract your CDs; check in your owners manual (any label in the last page .

THEFTLOCK is designed to discourage theft of your vehicle’s radio. The feature works automatically by learning a portion of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). If the radio is moved to a different vehicle, it will not operate. If the radio is removed from your vehicle, the original VIN in the radio can be used to trace the radio back to your vehicle.

With THEFTLOCK® activated, the radio will not operate if stolen.
