See if it will run with the gas peddle about 10% down if so there maybe a vaccum leak on the back side of the intake if not you could have a fuel pump not working

Could be many things. Try changing the fuel filter and look for any disconnected or cracked vacuum lines. Another problem could be you have a clogged fuel injector or bad gasoline. Try adding some fuel injector cleaner and octane boost to the gas. It's always best to rule out the cheapest things first.

SOURCE: Car will start but won't stay running

Does it get enough gas? Try adjusting the gas lever under the hood.
NOTE: Adjusting this to the optimum is a tough task. Consider asking a professional.

SOURCE: 1989 oldsmobile cutlass ciera car starts but won't stay running it sputters and backfires and dies

Like Ron says, timing chain is possibility, usually only above 150,000 though it can happen sooner.
I'm wondering if it has a crankshaft position sensor?

Car won't stay running

If the problem only happens when the engine is cold, a bad electric sensor is likely to blame. If the car stalls even when the engine is warm, the cause is likely a faulty electric fuel pump.

My asb light comes on when starting and stays on. Lights won't come on , power locks won't work, power windows won't work, radio won't work. All fuses are good and car runs fine.

Those are all really common symptoms of the alternator going bad on those cars. I would have it checked to make sure it's charging properly.

there are 2 sensor on the carb . you may need to replace both to find out whiche one it is . try this also give it gas while starting and when it starts you will have to keep your foot on the gas a little to keep it running if it runs that way its one of the 2 senors .
