Wow no symptoms stated just the boring where is it...
but great question, names car and year, clearly
we've posted the full fsm online here 100s of times.
here we go again.
down load it, then type , (after opening it)
control F, the type compass.
i wonder if a compass car has compass , omg.
i have 2010 and have same book.
did you scan the PCM yet, i bet not.
and its guess what, telling why it fails right now.
see page 8M-6 in book FSM.
the dtc shows car needs degaussing,, now.... see?
and if that error happens the compass goes blank, RTM?

8m-20
calibration, RTM
replacing first is "overthetop", why go there.
first are scans then tests.
or needs just a degaussing... (a tool)
page 27
"NOTE: In addition to the Universal Transmitter
operation the Electronic Overhead Module (EOM)
is responsible for some of the compass functions.
Anytime the EOM is replaced the compass variance
value must be set, (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/
OVERHEAD CONSOLE/ELECTRONIC VEHICLE
INFO CENTER - STANDARD PROCEDURE - COMPASS
VARIATION ADJUSTMENT)."
not only that the PCM can lose commmications with this OEM.
so not scanning all modern cars, is a road to doom.
why skip scanning the car first and checking fuses.?????

scan first
ask questions 2nd.
my motto.... and WIN

I don't have any idea how to change a signal module 2009 jeep compass

HAZARDS DEAD TOO>?????
no such thing that simply (pops out in hand)
check fuses first. F8 and F17 F33
then scan it next? you must scan newer cars. or its all just water under the bridge. (wasted effort and cash)
no symptoms posted., btw.
zero. just easter egg hunt,
you do know some jeeps there is no such module , right>?
i have the 08 book here,
lets see what's there.

this car has no such thing, the
here is the path, (block diagrams, in words)
Lets say you turn left. (or right or hazards)
the steering module sees that.
then IT, send to the network command to all what want to listen
you are turning.
then the Cluster brain sees that and flashes,(all by itself)
this same network command goes to the TIPM up front (under hood)
this is a complex set of electronics here.
and has 100% full electronic drivers inside that drive all blinker lamps. it receives, those commands and then flashes 1 of 4 drivers to do that.(transistor drivers) with electronic overloads.

does not work any thing like a 1993, old jeep,
so back to square one, no symtoms.

check fuses
scan it, you must scan it,
if say the cluster does not flash there will be errors reported
telling you what happened. even communications errors on the network called CAN-BUS

Remote start & keyless entry and radio does not hold clock time when key is off on 2010 jeep compass

I would check all fuses and replace any blown and retest. If the compass is still not working..I would make sure there is power at the compass module...If there is.. I would replace the module.
