Such noises can be a bad bearing somewhere. Does it occur only when the car is moving, or when the car is stopped, but the engine is running? If when car is moving, it might be a small rock caught in between a bake pad and the rotor. Sometimes you can free it by driving slowly in reverse and tapping the brakes. Drum brakes don't usually do this. Try to find out if it is coming from the front or rear of the car. It could be badly worn brake pads (metal to metal wear).

My car makes loud screeching noise when starting.

could be your serpentine belt. usually when they get worn they will start to either slip or cause a very high pitched screeching noise. to verify that is the cause get some water or brake clean in a spray bottle and spray it on to the belt while the vehicle is running. if the noise goes away for a moment you found your cause. if not then its something else. Hope this helps

Loud brake noise in 97 buick lesabre

When you had the drums off, did you inspect the shoes for excessive wear? And How do the drums look? Are they grooved? Can you be more specific about the loud noise. Does it sound like a grinding noise, or a screeching or pulsating noise. Is it lower pitch or high pitch?

Screeching noise coming from driver side tire

The high pitch sound may come from the brake pads as metal parts hit the disc to signal the owner that it needs change. The metal parts gets exposed when the pads have worn out. The brake also has a hub to cover the disc. See if the metal plate is hitting it but this issue would appear when the wheels are in motion. Check if it is the belts, have the tension checked out. Other than that the bearings are the other items on your wheel that could cause a high pitched sound when you car is in motion.

Alternator?
Voltage Regulator?

If the noise sounds like a weeeeeee that increases in pitch as the RPMs increase, and you haven't heard this sound before the 'problem', suspect the alternator...
