Question about 1990 Ford F150

1 Answer

My Ford F-150 vibrates significantly when I accelerate. I can't find anything wrong with the suspension or frame/structure of the truck. Any good ideas?

There may be a severe leak in the exhaust manifold. The pressure release from the engine works like a pulse and it can cause enough vibration. I am not sure if you would be able to run seafoam through your air intake/brake booster system. If you could then it will be so easy to see a leak as it creates huge amount of white smoke.

Vibrates when on the gas but not when off the gas

Your problem sounds like you have a worn out ujoint or cv joint which would vibrate under strain when adding power to the drive train.

I have a bad vibration on acceleration on my 2010 1200L. Its only when accelerating, if you let of throttle vibration is gone. Not sure what to check. Any help is appreciated.

You need to get a good DIY mechanic or garage to check, engine mounts, drive shafts, suspension joints and bushes. Likely as not they will find a chassis / suspension bush gone.

.vibrations. changed universal joints still

By changing the suspected drivetrain components you've eliminated the drivetrain from suspicion,
leaving just the suspension, steering, and tires.
Visually inspect upper and lower ball joints, springs, shocks (for leakage) - (suspension & steering)
Check tires - unusual wear pattern on one tire tells you which wheel well has problems in it.
The sneaky experienced mechanic way - park the truck on a level surface, then run a tape
measure to the top of each wheel well from the ground up - compare front-to-front and
back-to-back - those that are significantly lower than their mate are suspect.

I am currently looking to buy a 1998 volkswagen Golf, The front right suspension casing is rusted and has begun separating from the frame is this costly to fix?

Very costly and not really a good way to fix it,the car has no actual frame and relies on the structure of the metal for stability.

Vibrating steering wheel on 2005 F-150. Steering wheel vibrates at 26 mph then fades away.

Your front tires could be out of balance, or out of the round. Have it balanced.
Shock absorber and /or suspension components worn or damaged.
Lose or worn out steering parts.
Doe's do it when you braking.
