Question about 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE
I wrecked my 2001 olds alero but the stereo was awesome. now i am trying to hook it up in my 95 grand am gt but i am left with 2 extra purple wires on the back of the radio. the clock will come on momentarily but no power when i try to turn it on. i can get the unlock code but i need it on to put it in. can someone help me with this?
The purplr wire are data wires and are needed to hookup to the olds alero computer to allow it to turn on. these radios do not use acc. power wire to turn on. they get a data signal from the Body control module in the car it is installed originally. If you know what you are doing you can hookup up a BCM from a diiferent car and send the data from it to the radio. but takes alot of time and knowledge.
