Try replacing the plug and plug wires if its a mis fire it should be throwing codes, if so I need the codes to help you. If not throwing codes then it is a mechanical problem could be the vapor purge valve malfunctioning could be a partial plugged fuel filter, does it miss all the time or does it miss under load? more info would help solve this.

Car sucks at idle and wont go over 40mph. has a p0300 code

Hi, have you done a fuel pressure test ,a bad fuel pump or stopped up fuel filter can cause a missfire code. your p0300 is a random missfire code. If you dont have enough fuel pressure to the injectors it will missfire because of not enough fuel . I dont now what your fuel pressure should be because i dont know what engine you have. If have any more question please re post.
Thanks dodge tec

Code o300 checked about everything you can possiblly do and lite still comes on, any idea's 1999 chevy silverado four wheel drive, 5.3 motor auto trans.

Code p0300 is for mutiple missfires. Have you checked fuel pressure, fuel pressure regulator, plugs, wires, fuel filter... Those would be the main cause of Mutiple missfires.

My 1995 Toyota Tacoma 4 cylinder 2.7 liter automatic 4wd is missfireing on three of the four cylinders. The miss fire is very random happening more and more frequently. I have good compression and timing....

Pull codes from OBD computer go from there. Could be other problems, check fuel pressure, All electrical connectors- loose, water, dirty, ground connections, etc. Could be a failing sensor. How do you know its missfiring on 3-4? one or two cylinders would be a really bad shake. Creek is to deep stay out of creek. Good luck!

Engine missfire #5 cyl. changed plugs, plug wires, replaced 2/5 coil wth known good coil. fuel pressures is within speccs. plugs were not fouled vehicle has good compression all cyls. vacumn is good and...

The only thing you didn`t mention is the ignition module. It is under the coils and that is where the coils get there power from.Replace the module and I`m sure this will take care of your problem.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Showing PO420 and PO304 code

MAP sensor, Maybe, but doubt it.

When the misfire monitor detects a misfire, it will trigger the check engine light with the specific cylinder number as the last digit in the P030X code. For instance cylinder 1 misfire is P0301, cylinder 2 is P0302 etc. In this case we are left with a P0304 in the computer memory. Which is cylinder 4.
Possible Causes:

Fuel injectors, related wiring, sensors and computer issues
Running out of gas, or poor fuel quality
Evaporative emissions system (EVAP) concerns: fuel vapors leaking into engine
Incorrect Fuel Pressure
EGR system concerns: leaking EGR valve or restricted ports
Base engine concerns: low compression, valve train problems and timing issues
Ignition system concerns including, but not limited to:
Faulty spark plugs
Faulty coil or related wiring
Ignition module or related wiring issues
Ignition related sensor faults or wiring issues
This maybe causing PO420 code to go off.
Which is:
P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)

There is one O2 (oxygen) sensor in front of the catalytic converter (called upstream), and one behind it (downstream). When the engine is warmed up and running normally the upstream oxygen sensor reading fluctuates and the downstream one is fairly steady. In the case where both readings are fairly steady, a P0420 check engine light code is set.

Possible Causes:

Oxygen (O2) sensor not working correctly
Damaged or leaking exhuast (pipe, manifold, catalytic converter)
Damaged catalytic converter
