No power to coil with ignition on. Power at pin 30 all the time and pin 86 with ign on. negative at pin 87. 12v at pin 85.turn key on power at coil for 2 sec. Power at cavity 3 at comp. Fuel pump ok. Code...

Mike, I don't know what you are working on, Chrysler? Chevy? Chrysler and Jeep have an Automatic Shutdown Relay for power to the coil. But the only thing I know that gets a 2 second signal with key in on, is the fuel pump relay. The pcm sends a 2 second signal to pin 85 or 86 of the FP relay with key on to prime the fuel system. Do you need a wiring diagram?

If it was fuel related it would have sputtered as it ran out of gas. I think it is lack of spark caused by a failing crankshaft or camshaft position sensor.

What is pcm asd circuit

PCM is powertrain control module. ASD is automatic shutdown. The PCM operates the Automatic Shutdown relay and fuel pump relay. The ASD relay supplies power to the fuel injectors and ignition coil. The fuel pump relay connects power to the fuel pump.

What's your problem? 2000 Yukon XL Yukon died while driving down the highway like it ran out of fuel. Had 1/4 tank. No fuel pressure.

You'll need to check the circuit from the fuel pump relay back to the pump. The computer grounds the relay.
If the pump is running the filter could be clogged.

99 jeep 4.0. no power to coil. no voltage on gage.

First check the fusible links. With gentle tension, they will pull apart when they have failed.

Check starter motor relay in Power Distribution Center.as well as auto shutdown relay and fuel pump relay. And make sure those fuses in that section are all okay and fully seated. Is there any indication the anti theft system has been activated- if so equipped?

1995 Ram 1500. Just died? No votage to coil, no spark?

The power supplied to the fuel pump, ignition coil, fuel injectors and parts of the power module is controlled by the logic module through the Automatic Shutdown Relay (ASD):
The ASD relay is closed (allowing power to flow through it) when the ignition is first turned on. If the signal from the ignition reference is lost while the engine is running, the logic module cuts power to the ASD, which in turn removes power from the fuel pump, ignition coil, injectors and those parts of the power module.  This causes the engine to shut down.

Failure of the automatic shutdown relay is often shown as inexplicable stalling or refusal to start. The ASD can be triggered by a broken wire or short in another place, e.g. the fuel pump.  Hope this helps, and did you try to retrieve any DTC codes?? Be glad to help friend.
