It's located behind the left rear tire behind the quarter panel. Good luck and hope this helps.

My 1997 GMC Savana with a4L60E won't down shift unless i do it manualy. when i start it and put it in drive it acts like it is in high gear.

Hello,
Is your check engine light on?
It sounds like you have a failed shift solenoid on the valve body.

I hope this helps.

Where is the fuel regulator for a 1997 gmc savana

It is at the end of the fuel "rack" which is a "pipe" that feeds the injectors. The regulator looks like a small vacuum can.

Heater blower does not come out vents

Check your vacuum lines under the hood and particularly the vacuum reservoir which is a canister that supplies a reserve on vacuum to bridge the times the engine is pulling hard. These often have plastic nipples with pushed-on hoses that can snap off.
The directional control of air flow is most often accomplished with vacuum 'motors' that move vanes to change direction.

Van will not when hot 1997 gmc savana 1500, 5.0

Could be the battery and starter solenoid. Solinoids often heat up and can't make the required electric connection until they cool off.

Or, the battery can't hold a charge due to faulty alternator or other electrical parts. The only other thing I can think of is the head gasket or cooling sustem is bad allowing an overheat to take place and the moving engine parts lock when hot.
