More than likely the steering column which contains the electric power steering parts, you would need to have it checked with a diagnostic scanner to confirm fault

Doesn't use power steering fluid ,your vehicle has electrric power steering . What's the problem ? Light or message on instrument cluster ? SERVICE POWER STEERING
The electric power steering (EPS) system reduces the amount of effort needed to steer the vehicle. The system uses the body control module (BCM), power steering control module (PSCM), torque sensor, discrete battery voltage supply circuit, EPS motor, serial data bus, and the instrument panel cluster (IPC) message center to perform the system functions. The PSCM, torque sensor, nor the EPS motor are serviced separately from each other or from the steering column. Ant EPS components diagnosed to be malfunctioning requires replacement of the steering column assembly, also known as the EPS assembly.
Your best bet ,take it to a qualified repair shop.
The electronic power steering (EPS) Warning Light is located on the instrument panel. This light illuminates when the EPS is malfunctioning. When this light is lit, your steering may be a little heavier, and you should schedule an inspection as soon as possible. Tip The EPS Warning Light briefly illuminates when the car is first turned on. The light is only a problem if it stays lit for an extended period.

It cannot be fixed until the problem with the Electronic Power Steering(EPS) is properly diagnosed.
The power assist system is comprised of...
EPS computer unit
Warning light on the dashboard
A connection to the OBD2 Diagnostic port in the car
A Vehicle speed sensor
A sensor which detects steering rotation on the input shaft of the steering rack
An electric motor, which provides the power steering assistance to the steering rack. Unless that motor runs you will have no power assistance to your steering.
You will need to have the system scanned with the appropriate scan tool through the OBD port in the car. This will generate various fault codes which assist in diagnosing where the problem lies in the power steering system. It may be just a failed sensor that needs replacing or it might be a bigger problem.
Once the fault codes have been pulled the mechanics can diagnose the cause and make whatever repairs or parts changes may be required.
This is not a do it yourself exercise. You will need a mechanic who knows these Japanese electronic power steering systems and who understands the fault codes (and there are many of them on this EPS system) to diagnose the problem for you and fix whatever fault(s) has arisen.
Hey Alex , what would you like to know ? Your vehicle has Electronic power steering , controlled by a control module .

They had a recall on these systems ! Suggest you take it to a GM dealer , Chevy , Cadillac , Buick , etc.....
check all fuse in both fuse boxes.
power sensor?
electronic power steering failure.
you can:
1: get it fixed. (any ASE shop would be happy to help.)
2: read the FSM and learn the tests to find the cause.
3: and scan the PCM to see what EPS failures are happening,
and post those.
or look them up in the FSM to see the tests.
Sirion 2006 model power steering system have some failure in EPS motor. remove your power steering motor and clean and fix it. power steering system will ok. if it is not good tell me please what is the error code
if you don't know what is the error code you can check that your self's
EPS indicates Electronic power steering warning light.---------The power steering needs to be inspected. The power steering pump, the power steering fluid, the power steering hose ,power steering belt and pulley. Get your car scanned by the dealer or at local car garage. That will be much helpful. As you will receive codes, as per codes you can replace the part or get the part checked.A fault in the wiring loop causes it to short on the steering column. This problem is very much noticed in Hyundai cars.-------
This will solve the
problem or point you towards the cause of problem. Thank you for using fixya.
Its the Electronic Power Steering. When it lights up, let the power steering unit be check in a local repair shop.
The other system is hydraulic power steering - which is driven from a pump through a belt system. EPS is driven by the battery / alternator. Low battery or faulty alternator can cause the EPS to stop working properly.
Sometimes (few) a fault in the wiring loop causing it to short on the steering column and turn on EPS (Electronic Power Steering), check it and scanned for know if some additional fault code is stored there.
