No voltage to the coil or no spark coming outta of coil wire?If no voltag to at least 1 side of the coil(2 wires)..Check fuse 21 20 amp in the power distribution box under hoodright side of engine compartment.

Ecu not giving signal to injectors?

Hi Daw, As you've already checked the crankshaft sensor, sounds to me as if the problem may be from the camshaft pickup sensor. If that one also proves fine you'll need to have the anti theft system re-coded. The anti theft unit cuts the injection. Regards John

1995 JEEP WRANGLE .ENGUINE STALL BUT WILL START RIGHT BACK UP .HAVE CHECKED ALL WIRE HARNESS ,DIST IS OK AND REPLACED .NEW FUEL PUMP .NEW RELAYS INSTALLED

Have a look at your crank sensor. When it starts to fail, It will cause a jeep to suddenly shut off if it stops sending a signal to the ecu, and it usually starts right back up again.

Try unplugging the ECU wire harness from the ECU, clean the terminals and screw it back on tightly. Might be a bad connection at the ECU. Also, I have no idea what 'block sensor' you are talking about and that jeep 4.0 has a crankshaft sensor bolted to the transmission bell housing, not a camshaft sensor, right?

Where exactly is the camshaft and crankshaft found in the engine of a 2.5turbo diesel cherokee

The camshaft is situated in the cylinder head( top part of engine) and the crank shaft is located in the cylinder block (the lower part of the engine) to replace either of these components are expensive to replace req the engine to be stripped down

1998 Jeep Cherokee -- car won't start. Turns over

have scanned to find problem code to get an idea of what it is. .it may either be the crank or cam sensor, check the crank sensor first. if it is bad it sends wrong timing info to pcm. therefore jeep will not start!! It is either the camshaft or crankshaft positioner. I would check the crank pos. first. Zach Cabot, AR

Try the camshaft possition sensor. I know it sounds stupid being that you changed your distributor, but most are rebuilt and they only check the continuity not function of camshaft sensor. Hope this helps!
