For you safety...

These systems are designed and engineered to function INSIDE the NORMAL parameters of ordinary average driving conditions.

When they start counting up large numbers of out of range deviations... they will shut down and issue the appropriate ALARMS.

Just as you know you have difficulty seeing the road (in a hard rain)... so to does your lane control systems. It is vital that they alert you when they are over-loaded/incapacitated... and cease operation.

It is a PRIMARY DESIGN CONSIDERATION.

Some folks (ME) are always going to push the limits... For EARLY TESTERS of STORED PROGRAM Control Systems it provided a great income ($$$) and interesting careers (fun too).

I have no specific data on the Sonata system but I can assure you... specific details where developed that when counted would determine with lightening electronic speed... that the ANY driver assist capability was out of operating parameters... and just as quickly STOP ALL function... Turning all CONTROL back to the hands of the DRIVER.

Why?

SAFETY!

My turn signals not working, and my fuel, temp and speed odometer is not working.but they come on sometimes.

Same thing started happening with our 2001 just yesterday. The transmission was slipping in and out too. The only thing we can think of is, had the hood open for and hour or so to take the battery out, and it was raining very hard at that time. Ever since then it has been acting up. More research tonight.....

When it is raining the engine idel is rough. 5.4 L Hemi engine. Only occurs during a heavy rain or in the car wash.

If you lift your hood, check the wires that are for your windshield wiper fluid, I had the same problem and because the wires were being pressed against the molding water was able to drop down onto the engine. When ever it rains really hard felt like the truck was going to cut off. But when the sun was out my baby would pur like a kitten.

Remove Oil maintenance required message on 2008 Toyota Highlander

This is the reset proceedure for a 2008 Highlander with a key-type ignition:

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine.

Look at the odometer, and verify that it displays "TRIP A". If it is on "ODO" or "Trip B", press the black stick next to the odometer to read "TRIP A".

Turn the key OFF.

Press in, and HOLD the black trip meter reset button, hold it IN.
DO not release it.

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine

Observe the Odometer display. You will see 5 dashes, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1 dash, and finally, 5 zeros. Then, whatever number that was displayed on "TRIP A" will be re-displayed..

Now release the black trip meter reset stick.

This completes the reset procedure, and it will be back on in 5,000 miles, to remind you of you next oil change.

Hope this helps! Thanks for choosing FixYa!
