Bmw 730d e65 code 4212, glow plug cylinder 1, activation .but all glow plugs changed to new. and computer shows the same problem

Try changing No1 glow plug with No 2 and see if the code changes, if it does you may well have a faulty new plug ( it happens frequently with the non genuine products )Regards Mike

Getting a P1391 error code on my 01 Caravan, Changed PCM Sensors, wires, plugs, EGR, Whats Next? Please

P1391 Glow Plug Circuit Low Input (Bank #1)
  • DTC P1391 or P1393 will set when the monitor indicates that all four glow plugs are not being powered on that bank. An open in the glow plug circuits, glow plug relay, glow plugs or monitoring circuit could be the possible causes.

Both DTCs P1391 and P1393 together will set when the monitor indicates that all eight glow plugs are not being powered. An open in all glow plug circuits, the glow plug relay, glow plugs, fusible links or all three monitoring circuits could be the possible causes.
  • Possible causes:
    • glow plug relay
    • glow plug shunt
    • open in glow plug circuit(s) or monitoring circuit(s)
    • glow plugs
    • PCM

I have change the glow plug relay its brand new bt i didnt change the glow plug will that cause it not to start

The operatoin of the glow plugs heat up the combuston chamber before turning over the engine. ONce the fuel hits the combustoin chamber , The fuel will ignite.

The diesel engine only runs on air and fuel .

The glow plugs are basically a resistor that heats up the combustion chamber or pre combustion chamber.

So if the glow plugs are getting power now that the relay is change out , Yes the glow plugs have a major roll in starting the engne.

I hope this was helpful

How do you change the glow plugs and relay in a F350 1997

Hello, here is the proceedure. Any questions please ask. Good luck. CAUTION The red-striped wires on the 1994-96 DI Turbo engine carry 115 volts DC. A severe electrical shock may be given. Do not pierce the wires.
  1. Make sure the ignition switch is OFF.
  2. For 1994-96 engines, remove the valve cover.
  3. Disconnect the wire connector from the glow plug.
  4. Using a 10mm deep socket, with enough clearance as to not break or bend the wiring connector, unscrew the glow plug from the manifold.
To install:
  1. Place anti-seize on the threads of the glow plug and screw it into the manifold.
  2. Tighten the glow plug to 12 ft. lbs. (16 Nm).
  3. Plug the wiring connector.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
  5. For 1994-96 engines, install the valve cover.
