It just all of suddwen stopped working. I replaced a bad coolant sensor

The sensor you replaced was the ECT (engine coolant temp)? Check your coolant level and air in the lines. Do a coolant pressure test to make sure the cooling system holds pressure, If it doesn't, you may have a head gasket problem.

Probably the temp gauge itself. Most of the time it doesn't have a problem but sometimes they do go bad. Did the car ever overheat prior to changing the solenoid?

I would be thinking that there is a good chance that you need to be checking out replacing the computer, if you aren't getting any communication with the proper scan tool then the computer isn't communicating with anything in the vehicle...... I would have guessed first off that the ignition control module might be bad but that is obviously part of the computer also, I would be looking in that direction.
