You replaced the cig lighter fuse ?
That should have fixed the radio problem if the lighter circuit has power now. Keep in mind when you kill the radio memory it resets to AM and not on any pre-set station. Just like when you disconnect the battery cable.
The radio gets memory power from the cig lighter circuit and regular power from the radio circuit thru the key switch.

SOURCE: no radio and cigarette lighter on my 1999 acura tl

Fuse box is on drivers side kick panel under dash.

It blends in very well due to being carpeted.

SOURCE: Our van's radio and cigarette lighter (same front

The owners manual has the fuse diagrams. The Radio code is there so if anyone steals your radio, it is inoperative, so it takes out the incentive to steal it. There is a box under the hood.

if the fuse has not blown it could be the ignition control module it controls the dash and a few other things.

4x4 wont engage

all most all of the newer vehicles are electronic check all your fuses under the hood and inside some manufaturers tie the power supply into the radio and or the cigarette lighter if the fuses are good turn the key on engine off put the vehicle in neutral and push the button listen for a almost light grinding noise to come from under the truck if no sound and the fuses are all good its most likely the motor that engages the transfer case good luck

Pushed in cig lighter and htr motor and radio quit, fuses OK. 89 vette

Looks strange what you said. Since you pushed the cigarette lighter in,means that made a contact to receive power to heat the element. Since you asked for that and immediately you have lost Radio and Heater, means that either you had somewhere a bad contact and blown the fuse for radio and heater. Now having as you said fuses okay surely is strange. If you can,try to remove the the dash holding the cigarette lighter and see at the back where the wires are and see if you have any bad contact.or some radios have an extra glass fuse see if is any check if is blown. the same also for the heater. Always work with ignition OFF,to avoid any contact .

I need to know where a few fuses are: the horn fuse, the cigarette lighter fuse, and the radio fuse.

The fuse box will be located on the drivers side on the firewall. The fuse for the cigarette lighter is the one marked with DM and the radio will be marked RDO.

I have a 1988 chevy celebrity. How do I remove the radio. I could not get the panel off, which covers the screws, holding the radio in place. There seems to be something near the cigarette lighter holding...

If you haven't solved this problem yet, here is the answer. You have to remove the cigarette ashtray and the mounting bolts, to include the mounting screws that hold the fuse box in place. disconnect the rear defogger from it's wiring and then remove the cigarette clip which is held on by a plastic shielding. It fits on the back of the lighter and can be easily rotated. Then there is a shielding on the cigarette lighter tube that just unscrews. just hold what you think is the cigarette lighter tube and try to unscrew it...it will work. (I just did the same for my car today) then you should be able to remove the grey molding that covers the radio and you will see that it only has 3 screws holding the radio in. I know it sounds like a lot to do, but it's much easier once you see how things work. I hope this helps you out. By the way, I just removed my radio on my 88 Chevy Celebrity, 4dr, 2.5

My child pushed in the cigarette lighter until

you could be lucky and the fuse blew, and it could be a burned wire, check the fuse panel and replace the fuse if blown, if it blows again you have to fix the wires, and possible the cigarette lighter if it got damaged

Cigarette lighter doesn't work. Need to know where the fuse is

If the cigarette lighter does not stick when you push the lighter in then this is the step to take. The prongs inside the lighter adapter have been pushed too far out. ( This happens if you plug other electronics like satellite radio or radar detectors) First, you MUST take out the fuse from the fuse box located under in the glove box. Second, look inside the lighter adapter (not the lighter) you will see two prongs that are supposed to be flared a bit inward. Simply get a small flat head screwdriver and pick the prongs outward but not too much. Do test trials with the lighter to ensure the lighter sticks. Plug the fuse back in and your lighter will be good as new. -Pete

Radio and cigarette lighter

remove the fuse and test it for continuity.... or just replace the fuse anyways as they always seem to put the lighter and radio on the same fuse.
