My horn was replaced on my 2006 kia sedona and sometimes it wont honk and sometimes it will

I pulled the center out of the steering wheel and grounded the horn contact. The horn honked like it should. This is on our 2006 KIA Sedona. The horn used to work once in awhile, but not at all now. This leads me to believe that the clockspring in the steering column is defective. I will call the dealer on Monday to see if there is a warranty fix, but I doubt that there is.

Where can I find my honk sensor in a 2006 Ford Focus? or How to fix my honk in a 2006 Ford focus? The honk is not working?

I believe there are 2 wires to the horn. One is power all the time, and the other is ground through the steering column wire to the horn button on the steering wheel, when it grounds out when pushed.
If it is a single wire to the horn, then there is a relay.

1984 P/U: The horn won't honk. I took off the horn mounted on the radiator suppost. Ran direct hot wire to it and it honks. Checked the wire connector to the horn and it has power. The fuses are all...

I wish others had responded to your 8Toyota pickup horn problem as I have exactly the same scenario. I am trying to find an accurate wiring diagram.

Horn won't honk from horn button on wheel. Horn works from panic button. How can I check button on steering wheel? The car is a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis. Thanks for help.

I replaced the horn relay which is located inside of fuse panel under the hood of car on the firewall, have someone push button to be able to hear a clicking sound coming out of the correct relay, then trade out relay of the same and see if horn works

When i touch the steering wheel the horn will not stop honking

check the horn connection. You will need to remove the center cover from the steering wheel. You should see a lone wire with a connector end that mates to a tab. When this makes connection the the center of the steering column (ground in this case) the horn sounds. I would think that if you removed the steering wheel center cover you will readily see and be able to fix the problem.

This is not a hard job, just look the the underside of the steering wheel for the screws that need to be removed to release the cover.

Good Luck

My horn quit honking on my 2006 chrysler pt crusier..

find the horn ,it should be at the front possibly behind the bumper ,run a wire direct to it and see it works ,if it does work then its the wiring in the steering wheel ,but as this vehicle no doubt has an air bag then entrust this job to a garage because if you get it wrong the air bag will explode ,expensive job to say the least

97 Jetta GLS - Horn honks when I turn the wheel to the left

sounds like there is something in the wrong place in the horn button. it makes contact when you turn left just as if you had pushed the horn button. i wonder does your airbag light ever come on, i mean not just in the startup sequence, that's normal. probably you need to take the horn button part of the steering wheel apart and get things back in the right place or maybe replace some parts, but because of the airbag being right there too it's not something i would recommend that you do yourself. accidentally setting off an airbag is not a good thing.

Horn

since heat caused the problem, i used cold for the fix.....there are several types of canned "FREEZE" that are used for electronic testing...i sprayed the steering wheel--twice. i think it released the weight of the steering wheel cover on the horn contacts...that or my prayers were answered......whatever the fix----currently AIN'T BROKE.....
