Cold starting Ford F 150 below 30 F will click solonoid have to wait to start

Sounds like the solenoid for the starter has a burnt spot on it. I don't think leaving the key on is heating up the starter so I do not know what is happening there. Are you getting a lot of water up in the starter so it is freezing over night. I would test the solenoid or replace it.

My 2004 Honda CR-V occasionally won't start. Lights come on the dashboard, but the engine doesn't turn over. I'll wait a few minutes and try again, then it starts. It will work just fine for...

Hello and welcome to FixYa!
Looks like that you have a failing IACV (idle air control valve). If the IACV is faulty, the vehicle tends not to start or may stall during operation. I suggest that you have the vehicle scanned to know exactly what the fault is. Though I suspect that it's the IACV.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

I have a Ford BroncoII 88 2,9 V6, changed 2 fuel pumps but still have problems starting when motor is cold, looks like not enough gas is coming trough, I have to accelerate a little and then motor is...

It may be equipped with a cold start injector. This injector spray extra fuel when the motor is cold to allow normal startup. I'm not too familiar with this vehicle but I had a similar problem on an 88 camaro and it turned out to be a faulty cold start injector.

1992 olds 88 stalls. after it sits for a half

Is the Service Engine Soon (or Check Engine) light illuminated on the instrument panel? If so, then have someone pull the codes and post them back here. Autozone will do this for you at no cost.Caution: don't purchase any parts after reading the codes on their recommendation! If no codes, then suspect either a bad crankshaft sensor or camshaft sensor. There are other possibilities too, but these are primary. I have seen MANY bad crank sensors do exactly what your describe without setting a code.

if it is a flex fuel vehicle, it most likely is the flex fuel sensor and/ or connector- it's located on the driver's framerail just behind the door.hope this helps and good luck

Starting problems

I had the same problem with my 97 olds 88. I would leave it off for work all day and would start up fine. If left for 15-20 minutes like you said it would not have inough power to turn over. You will probly have to replace your starter. I had the problem for about a year and finally had to replace it. got it about 10 months ago and have'nt had a problem since. You might want to have it checked out first by a professional first though. Hope this helps!
