Question about 2002 Daewoo Leganza

3 Answers

I was deccelerating to a stop when car would not accelerate anymore. Pushed it into parking lot. Car sounded like it wanted to turn over, but it would not start. Fuel pump still works, and I think it might be the timing chain? Any help on this would help.

You can tell if your timing belt is broke by removing the valve cover and observing the over head cam while turning the engine over if the cam does not rotate the timing belt broke. Another way is to pull out a plug and check for compression using a compression tester, in some instances when the timing belts break on interference engines they bend valves, I'm not saying this happened to you but if the belt broke and you do have a interference engine (call dealer to confirm) chances are the piston came up and hit one of the valves bending it.

Good luck

That car has a timing belt - not a chain..
If there is no lifter action when the engine is turning over - then its the timing belt..

Hope this helps !!

If the timing chain went on you while driving, you most certainly ruined your engine.
have a mechanic troubleshoot.

Replace fuel pump 2008 nissan altima

iv never known a fuel pump to make lots of clicks when starting. sounds to me like the clicking could be the starter motor either faulty or not having enough power, or a power shortage causing relays to click. check your battery connections if all looks good either charge the battery or try jump leads linked to a good battery.

99% of these kinds of unattended acceleration is driver error with a mix up between the brake and gas pedal.
Steering does not lock unless you turn the key to the lock position.
1% is a mechanical failure but switching the key off and depressing the brake usually controls the situation.
