Question about 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP Sedan
My wife's 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix has a problem with the right, rear light assembly. It suddenly quit working. No running light, no brake light, no marker light. Even the hazard function will not light it.
I checked the bulbs and replaced the burned out side marker bulb. It still doesn't work. Checked fuses, and all are intact. There have been no impacts or wrecks. Could it be the multi-function switch?
I doubt it would be the flasher module, since this only controls the blinker function and would affect the driver side blinker as well, if it were faulty. The driver side rear assembly works fine. I got a few estimates on an "electrical diagnostic" and they all want around $100 to trace it out. That's a bit steep, if ya ask me. So I'm asking all of you.
Probably a broken ground wire. Check it with a test light. Make sure you have a good ground, and then stick the test light right in the socket to see if there is power. If there is power to the test light, but still none to the bulb, it's a ground wire. If there is no power, its a power wire. Just keep poking the wires, and work your way back until you find some power. Make sure you have the lights on when you're checking. Good luck.
