Question about 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue

2 Answers

I have a 2000 Olds Intrigue. The park release button has popped out and getting the car out of park is a hit and miss proposition. I have located both a replacement handle and a handle with complete assembly. Do I need the complete assembly to repair this or is there a simple way to just repair the button? Is it a major problem to replace the handle alone? Any suggestions how to solve the problem?

Some of these vehicles had a piece that looks like a staple when it is out.I am assuming you have a floor shift. It is in the front of the handle.remove it with a small screw driver and the handle will come off.Istall the new one in reverse order.

You will need to dissamble the whole system in order to replace this and it alse depends on what you need to replace and work out if the cable underneath needs removing etc..You will need to be quite competent and required some tools to perfom this task.It is not as simple as you may think.Hope this helps.

Daytime running lamps not turning on. 2000 Olds intrigue

First thing to check would be the fuse that controls the DRLs(check manual), if the fuse for that circuit is fine the next thing to check is the relay.

Also if you have your parking brake slightly on, that can cause them not to turn on as well.

Where is oil filter located on 2000 olds intrigue

Not exactly sure on the intrigue, but on the Aurora 3.5 it is a cartridge filter accessed from a big black cap on the bottom of the oil pan. Use an oil filter wrench to get it off.

Climate Control only blowing HIGH and remote not working

for the first problem, it sound as if the blower motor resistor has gone out. this is a very simple repair and the part does not cost very much. If you can locate the blower motor, the resistor should be on the left side of the blower motor.
for your second problem, it sounds as if the remotes need to be reprogramed.
