Question about 2000 BMW 3 Series

1 Answer

E46 M problem changing gears.

It feels like you have to push real hard for changing gears as it would be an obstacle and it make a hidden noise when enters especially into 1-st and second gear no maters if the engine is cold or warm.
Could it be a meter of gearbox oil or should i change the entire ghearbox?
Thanks.

Its not advisable to just add fluid.. You must first determine if it is low..

Maybe concider getting the fluid exchanged if you have allot of miles on it..

It could also be that the syncronizer is beging to fail..

Hope this helps !!

97 civic hard to get in 1st gear/clutch not disengaging

Look for WETNESS at the Master cylinder, and at the Slave cylinder, attached to the Bell housing. The loss of fluid is reducing the Stroke of the Push Rod, which will create Clutch Drag, as you appear to describe.
