Hi the problem I have is the fuseable link went and was replaced, but now I have to rev the engine to get the alternater to kick in and the alternater worning light dose not come on at all!

Have a battery alternator check done on the car. One is probably bad.

Hi,maybe the best place to start is the alternater,if the red light is on and when you try to rev up the engine it gos to die,one other check is to put a multymetre on the battery it should be around 12v but when you rev up the engine it should go to about 14v,so try reving if it stays the same or gose lower the could be alternater.

My 2008 jeep commander is cranking but when u drive it an cut it off it won't crank unless you charge the battery the battery is good an i had my alternater tested it's good I put a new battery in it...

You may have fried the fuseable link that comes off of the positive battery terminal. Disconnect it from the post as well as the negative cable from the battery. Check the continuity along the length of the cable anywhere thrre is no continuity the link has blow, replace it or the entire cable.

Replaced starter, alternater and battery car still drains battery. whats wrong?

First you can not test an alternator by disconnecting the battery cable. That is what we did back when cars had generators. Today you can fry the computer and alternator running the engine with the battery cable off.
Meanwhile, I would look for a fuseable link or main fuse problem. The alternator circuit may not be connected to the fuse box and battery.

Then you have a field problem without the field you wont charge B2600 uses a voltage regulator it at the side of the fire wall it a square metal box either you adjust or replace it

99 honda civic lx, coolant was found in motor oil-head gasket for some reason the ac will not work! it was working fine and mechanic claims it was working fine when he test drove it after...

GOOD LORD,, Not here to knock any ones work but.. could be many things.. I guess you checked all fuses.. sounds like fuseable link didn't like being wired around.. I would make sure acc. wire is not missing from battery. check pressure switch wires at the dryer see if you have fire with switch on if not run hot wire and see if air comp kicks on .. do you have power to air cond fuses .. bet you dont.. fuseable link or check relays fuseable link didn't like that wire around.. hard to tell you where to start.. need someone to undo what he did i would call Better Business Bereau. I could coach you threw this repair but we would have to have better communication..

Well, if the link is burning, something major is wrong, replace the link alone and it would certainly fail again. I suggest that you pull the alternator and get it bench tested. I suspect diode problems...

Revs erratically

sounds like the rev limiter is kicking in to keep the engine from over rev damage, there should be a way to get the limiter disabled or perhaps get the turbo building boost sooner.

LOw voltage after new alternater was installed, battery is good. Voltage shows about 12 volts when running.

That 12v is probably just battery voltage. If you have a test light try sticking the red wire going to the back of the alternator and see if you have power there. If you do, you very likely may have bought a bad alt... It happens here at the shop all of the time. If you dont have power -look for a fuseable link somewhere between the alternator and the battery and check power on both sides of the link. Also see if there is an ALT fuse in the engine compartment fuse box.

Accident + car fuses?

This could be caused by what is called a "fuseable link" it is a piece of wire that is designed to carry only so much amperage (current) sometimes when you have an accident and you have electrical shorts caused by the accident the fuseable link will break because of the electrical short. Some cars have fuseable links going to the starter solinoid and if these short out the car will not start. On the focus the fuel cut off switch is located on the passenger kick panel under the dash. The ones I have seen have a red button and you have to press down on them to reset them.
