Need to know the location of the turbo in a golf GT TDI

Need to know how to locate the turbo in the engine bay so I can take the serial number down before it goes back to the garage for the 4th time for a replacement as I think they are leaving the same one in and telling me it's been changed.

You really need to be over a pit, as you look at the car with the bonnet up the turbo is on the back side of the engine part way down, the best thing is to be over a pit and follow your exhaust up,you still might not be able to see a number with the turbo still fitted , good luck

Google image search "turbo" to see pictures of what a turbo looks like, then find it in your engine bay.

Where do i locate the chassis number on 1997 volkswagen jetta gt 2.0 cause i need to buy timing belt and componet kits engine code B

Hi. On 4-cylinder engines, the engine identification number is stamped into the block near the crankcase breather or upper coolant hose fitting. On VR6 engines, the identification number is located directly above the crankshaft pulley, at the top of the cylinder block. The first two (or in the case of later engines, three) digits are the engine code and will be the most useful description of the engine when locating specifications or ordering parts.

Now, if you are trying to locate the vehical VIN, this is on the left side of the dashboard, visible through the windshield. On Golf and Jettas, a second plate is located on the top of the cowling behind the engine.
