The cooling fans on a 1997 pontiac grand prix gt are not working

This could be the fans not working or a bad temperature sensor. If you direct wire (hotwire) the fans and they operate then the problem is very likely your temperature sensor. The temperature sensor is usually located on or near the thermostat housing. I hope this helps.

1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GT; Elec problem with fan

Replace the blower resistor that is mounted next to the blower motor on the passenger side of the vehicle.
This will restore correct blower operation and I suspect it is also back-feeding voltage resulting in your electrical issues.
Two screws hold the blower resistor into the heater case and it is very easy to replace.
Good luck

Removed battery cables to reset check engine light, now cooling fans and ac comp. will not work. it is on a 97 pontiac grand prix 3.8 v6

There are fusable links that are inline to the battery positive cable. Make sure you have good connections or an open connection in the feed wire. It may have been broken upon installation. Question.,.did you install the negative cable first before the positive cable? If so it can short out a fusable link

2003 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 6 Cyl - Cooling Fan Not Operating

the fan motor could just be bad, you can test this by removing the fan and connecting a wire to each terminal and to a battery. the wires hooked up one way will spin the fan and the other way will spin the fan backwards so you cant hook it up wrong. I hope that helps you out!
