Fan/s not coming on when needed. When moving down the road the airflows over radiator cooling off the engine as when sitting still it needs the fan/s to move air through the radiator.

SOURCE: hyundai santa fe 03 running problems

If your Santa Fe has a V6 engine 2.7L , it sounds like you have an ignition break down happening. You will need to renew all the ignition wires and check the two coils also for arcing .

SOURCE: need instructions on removing hyundai santa fe 01 fan belt ac

its your serpentine belt (thats what its called) and you will need a 3/8 ratchet and then find the belt tensioner. The tensioner has a spot where you need to put the ratchet into and pull or push depending on whatever way and that will releive the pressure off the belt so you can take it off.

SOURCE: ''check engine light'' illuminated, 1004 Hyundai, Santa Fe

If you live in the US, take it to qany Auto Zone store and thy will read the codes off for you, I would suspect any right thinking competitor would do the same, check if you don't have one near by.

Hope this is of some help.

My hyundai santa fe is running hot, why ?

The first thing i would check is the thermostat. With the vehicle cool, take the radiator cap off and start the car. Look at the coolant in the radiator, as the car warms you should see free flowing coolant inside the radiator. If not the thermostat may be stuck shut.
