It can be said for any vehicle. It just depends on how its treated through out its entire life. If its been driven hard and not maintained with proper fluid changes and filter changes then yes parts will break down. But If you take care of it, and if the previous owner(s) did so as well then it will only require normal maintenance throughout its normal life. I've got a 91 Isuzu Rodeo that's got almost an identical engine if you have the v6 that has over 160k on the odometer with the original engine that has never been rebuilt that still runs and sounds great. I had to change the trans due to a busted cooler line. Treat it right, and it will treat you right.

2004 Oldsmobile Alero, 4 door, 3.4. 37 fuse has blown twice. I replaced the fuse and it worked fine but I think it's going to keep blowing. I heard that fuse 37 relates to air conditioning. Is that true?...

Whenever a fuse blows it is because the if a fault in the wiring or components that that fuse is protecting. So with that said it wouldn't have anything to do with freon, is your fan for the heater/AC working ok? Does it work on all speeds and not making noise. As for your freon if you have anyone who could put a little in for you to see if it low that would save you some money. Get back to me if on your fan operation.

Is it true that when the temp gauge keep going up dangerous drive the car

Yes it is true that to drive the car with the temp gauge in the red can be dangerous. The motor will seize causing uncontrollable slide /skid at the worst possible time. It is also a total waste of money as you will be up for replacement motor . Have the problem checked out if it is not already too late.

I have a 2001 olds silhouette and the driver side rear drum brake adjuster keeps breaking. I have replaced it twice now and its all put together right and the adjuster just keeps breaking. What would be...

Most unusual! Never heard of this. Are you certain the brake shoes are the correct fit for this vehicle, and are the front and rear shoes positioned correctly? I think I would pull both rear drums off, and compare the two sides, and see that everything is just alike. All the springs in the same holes, everything just alike. Also take the driver's side drum to a shop and have it checked for being out of round. Maybe the drum is warped or not true.
Good luck.

I would not mess with Oil Treatments, what you have been doing is fine. I would change the fuel filter, if it hasn't been done for a while. Also a transmission service. Check your belts and hoses.
