Question about 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I have the last 13 years of my life overhauling transmissions for a living so Im not "green". truck had bad fuel pump, tap tank with hammer pump would run.. Replaced pump and started normally. wife asked me to look at security system, factory chry.. I found the drivers lock tumbler sensor harness knocked off of lock. Bought new one at dealer, installed it and truck worked great. road tested 13 miles no problems. Return home start engine to move into garage to park for the night. Next morning would not start, pump runs and fuel comes to the rail but none will come out of the schrader valve, has no codes, security seems to function as it should, no MIL lights Ran system tests with my snap on Red brick everything looks and tests good. It will fire barely, and run on gas if poured into throtle body. What is wrong? Help this ASE Master tech out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check the crank angle sensor sensor near the transmission inspection plate.
CAS can intermittent and fail with no warning.
I turn down a job because the "other guy": used a tire iron pry open the inspect the flywheel!!!
After all said and done.......it was the crank angle sensor.
