I hear a rattle when I slow down and stop, what could it be and what can I do to stop it?

On my 2002 sunfire it was a shroud around the muffler just bend it a little and it should stop it

did they do an exhaust back pressure test to diagnose a plugged catalytic. if they did then replace it as there is no repair for this. the rattling you hear is the catalyst has come apart and is rattling inside the shell.

your front drivshafts have cv joints, these have grease in them which quiets them. once the grease dries up they rattle. even more so when turning . you should replace both front cv joints. get rebuilt units to save$$$$

make sure all bolts were tightened properly to caliper.may be loose.

Rattle from front end

hard to help with out hearing for my self, try getting different opinions from 2 other shop. may be worth it. 1 to be a transmission shop if it is a trans problem.

Same thing it rattles when the a/c is on or when I'm going slow

when you turn on the ac in your car it slows the engine down that much more and things under the hood will react to this slow engine rpm differance. does the rattle stop when you pick up speed , if it does you may want to get the idle checked on your car some times you can correct this problem with this answer. if your in a real nhot area the ac pump has to word that much harder to compensate for the heat

you could have a loose heat sheald or a broken catilitic converter you should take it to a shop and have it looked at tobe safe
