Sep 23, 2009 - 97 GMC Jimmy 4x4 blinkers work, reverse lights work, above window ... I just lost hazard lights and rear brake lights, they were working 2 days ... If it is a frayed wire or solder point, then you can repair it, but not any worn contacts. ... Does anyone have any suggestions on 1997 Honda Accord tail & brake lig.

Ok that's pretty simple Put cylinder # 1 on TDC= top dead center on the (compressionstroke piston all the way up). Mark on metal part of distributor (with marker) where the number one is on the cap( that's where the number 1 wire plugs in) Then in-plant distributor make sure that rotor point is pointed to #1 on the cap, turn distributor shaft until this is achieved or as close as possible try to center shaft so you can adjust... ****** or advance to fine tune after you in-plant distributor if needed. You'll have to gently apply some prying pressure to the housing as you turn the screws, it sounds like they've stripped the part they go in...

Check the brake light switch should be a orange wire with 12v then a white wire with 12v when the pedal is pressed.If htat cks good then ck the hazard switch by moving it up and down and wiggeling the knob with the brake pedal pressed if they start working then your multifunction switch is bad and needs to be replaced.

there are four nuts that you must remove at the front of the pulley between the fan. remove fan, fan shroud,loosen accessory belts. remove water pump pulley and the pump bolts will be exposed. check belts for replacement while you have them loose. reverse procedure to install.
