Whats causing the issues with my transmission? A750E transmission, 2006 toyota tacoma prerunner

I lost all forward gears in my transmission, reverse works perfectly fine. It was showing the code for the slt solenoid P2714 so we replaced the solenoid. After getting everything installed again the transmission still wasnt engaging any forward gears. We disconected the computer and manually shifted the transmission and all the gears seem to be working but with the computer conected its as if we never fixed anything. After conecting the input speed sensor the same code for the SLT solenoid showed back up and its a brandnew solenoid. What am i missing or not seeing that could fix this issue???

Code p 2714 refers to transmission fluid pressure (TFP) solenoid D-performance problem or solenoid stuck off===causes --wiring---TFP solenoid--transmission mechanical fault
with the shifting of the gears manually , that rules out a mechanical problem
question now --did you replace the correct solenoid
did you check for faulty wires at harness connections or at the box
I would talk with an accredited auto transmission shop to identify solenoid D on your transmission and to see if there are any problems that occur on a regular basis in that area of the transmission ( wire insulation breaking down in the auto oil , problem solenoids etc

My bad. I was thinking of a different code when I wrote this. I was getting a code for the line pressure before we replaced that.
Could the compiter itself habe anything to do with the issue at all

the item that has control of the transmission is the TCM it reports to the ECM as to road speed turbine rpms so that the ecm knows when more power is required for a ratio change or when to change the mixture for down shifting
Could be the ECM but at this stage I would concentrate on the transmission controls and wiring
although you wrote the wrong code , the PTF solenoid can play a part in ratio selections

SOURCE: 2001 Yukon XL SLT 4 speed Auto Transmission shift problem!

Sam,

I would start with a transmission fliud and filter service.

I would then have the trasnmission checked out by a transmission shop. The transmission most of the time has the direct drum band is starting to go. The shops can rebuild it no problem, This is a very common failure wiith the trasnmission.

Good Luck

2006 Toyota Tundra does not do reverse gear after transmission repair

If you opened the transmission 3 times then it became useless because you would have had to put new seals in it each time. Its a slipping front or forward clutch. its a mechanical issue. Transmissions nowadays need to be torqued and lubed to the right specifications, if you are off just .00000013 on your valve body then you are screwed.

Was pushing snow and heard aloud ping while in reverse and it quit pulling.all forward gears still work. sounded like a u-joint. believe me i no that sound.i drive it like i stoled it. lol.but thats what...

not sure if this is an automatic or manual transmission 1st (automatic)if all forward gears are still working what it sounds like is that the reverse drum in the transmission has come apart. which will eventually cause the forward gears to start to go if thats the case, the rapir for the reverse drum is internal the transmission will need to be rebuilt. you can just put a reverse drum, but my opinion is there will be more damage and while its out might as well rebuild the entire transmission. you didnt mention if it was 4 wd or not and only rarely have i seen a transfer case cause the same issue, once most recently in a f150 with a manual transmission i was working on the chain stretched so bad it lost reverse but had all forward gears. 2nd (manual) could have lost the reverse synchronizer whic again the trans will need to be repaired either with just a syncro or complete rebuild. hope this helps

now the side lights work on a fuse for each side of the vehicle ,the throttle sensor is a recall as the same one is used on citreon and peugeot cars here so its more than one make involved .Two fuses control the parking lights so i would suggest a switch problem or a supply problem from the big power supply box under the bonnet

In a 1999 toyota tacoma sr5 prerunner what can

Usually the key is either worn, but usually the steering is locked. To unlock the steering, muscle the steering one direction while turning the key with the other hand. Your other concern may be related to the first. For the shifter to be able to shift. The shift lock has to be activated. The way this happens is when the ignition is on and the brake is depressed or if the shift lock override button is depressed and shifted at the same time. This button is usually under a cover at the base od the shifter if a floor shifter. Hope this helps,
