SOURCE: 2000 Chevy Venture Fuel Pressure Regulator

use the pressure test port on the top of the engine, it is on the fuel rail that supplies fuel to the injectors, looks like a tire valve, will have a plastic cap on it.

SOURCE: fuel pressure regulator had no vacuum line connected

another engineers wet dream. think of it this way . what is normally in the intake when the engine is running.. answer vacume, hence the regulator gets its vacume without a hose connected to it as its already in a full time vacume chamber.no hose required . ps be carefull to seat the regulator and o rings securely into the housing befor you reattach the secureing metal clip.
good luck chris

SOURCE: 1997 astro 4.3 vortec v6 fuel pressure problem.

have you made shure there is fuel in the tank, they had alot of problems wth sending units on that year. if so chances are its the fuel pump. try banging on the bottom of the fuel tank while sombody tries to start the vehicle, if it starts replace fuel pump. faulty regulators will usually cause a very rich running condition.

SOURCE: how do i install a fuel pressure regulator on a

You will need a torx bit, either a t35 or a t40 I believe. You will also need a 1" or a 1 1/16" The pressure regulator can be removed without removing the throttle body but you would need to have some experience replacing them to figure it out. First remove the throttle body from the intake plenum. Using the 1 inch wrench loosen the nut that holds the fuel line to the lower part of the fuel pressure emulator. Use the torx bit to remove the bolt that holds the regulator to the fuel rail. Place a rag around the regulator to catch and fuel that may spray and pull the reegulator out of the fuel rail then pull up on the regulator to remove to from the fuel line. If you have a 3.8 Liter than all you will need is a snap ring plier. Remove the plastic cover from the top of the engine, remove the snap ring that holds the regulator in place. Pull out the regulator. Be prepared for fuel to spray or spill. Make sure all the parts come out with the old regulator. Compare the old and new one to make sure they look identical. The screen and small oreng like to stick in the fuel rail. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

I have 2003 chevy impala (V6 3.4 liter) i recently replaced both head gaskets. The car was running fine and now with engine back together engine want turn over sounds like its not firing but the plugs...

Did you get the timing set correctly when you reattached the cam to the timing chain? It sounds like you didn't have the #1 Top dead center or the cams were in the wrong position when you reset the timing chain. The cam shaft and Crank will actually look like they are set correctly two times. Once when it is in time and once when it is out of time 180 degrees. If you are more than 5 degree out of time or more than 5 degrees from the point where it is 180 degrees out of time the engine normally won't fire at all. The easiest way to check and verify this is to do compression checks on the cylinders, you will find you have little or no compression on several cylinders if this is the case. To correct it remove the timing chain and set the crank to #1 Top Dead center. Then go to the head that is on the #1 side, line the cam up so that both valves are closed for the number 1 and line that mark up. You have to find the firing order to make sure the intake is open getting ready to close for the next cylinder that going to fire and the exhaust valve is closed, then make teh final adjustment to line that cams timing mark up then replace the timing chain. This should get everything roughly within 5 degrees of zero and should get the motor so it will start.

94 caprice v8 an i cant spin wheels (burnout) what to do

Sounds like the timing is retarded. Loosen the distributor hold down bolt and turn the distributor counter clockwise about a half inch or so. Then drive the car. If it runs better then get a timing light and set the timing to 10 to 15 degrees before top dead center (btdc) at idle with EST disabled (if equipped) or if it has a vacuum advance with vacuum hose disconnected. Good luck.

Changing spark plugs 2003 Impala 3.4 eng. i.e. removing and reinstalling upper intake manifold

I have a 2003 chevy Impala and it's not so difficult. Try using a small ratchet that fits in the palm of your hand, I can't remember what it is called. To install the plugs use an extension and put a couple of the card board pieces from one of the spark plug boxes in between the new spark plug and the spark plug puller socket, this will hold the new plug in place while you work with the extension. When screwing in the plug you will have to go by feel so move the extension back and forth like a light jiggle while turning to avoid cross threading the plug. After the plug is tightened attach the ratchet and slightly torque into place.
