I have the same problem. Changed out he blower resistor and problem was fixed. But it only lasted about 2 months, now the exact same problem has returned. What could be causing the blower motor resistor to fail?

HAVE SOMEONE EXTRACT THE CODE FROM THE CAR'S COMPUTER. IF THERE IS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON THEN THE PCM HAS A CODE STORED ON IT. IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE A THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR, BUT JUST CHECK THE CODE TO BE SURE. SOME OF THESE CAN ALSO HAVE A BAD IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU TO FIND THE PROBLEM. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED, THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK

You need to replace the whole assembly. It comes as a motor/regulator.

Look for a blown fuse or bad relay for the a/c in the front fuse box. If replacing fuse and it blows again, then there is a short circuit on the load side of the fuse which goes to the a/c compressor clutch. If fuse ok, try another relay to replace the possible bad a/c unit. The engine computer controls this relay. It also receives air temperature sensor reading from cold air path.
