My 1987 Chevrolet S-10 Tahoe; (2.8 L V6 - 6Cyl)

My 1987 Chevrolet S-10 Tahoe; (2.8 L V6 - 6 Cylinder) has a huge transmission leak, not sure where or why its doing it. it is leaking towards the middle like right in front of the gas tank. right below the bench seat, it looks like its by the tranny pan but im not sure, is it a seal? please tell me what kind of seal i will need and how much it will cost for the labor. that would really help alot.

Cost of labor depends on the problem. You could have a bad seal at the speedometer adapter, bad output seat for the drive shaft, a bad pan gasket, loose cooler line, ect.... Take it to a qualified mechanic for a look and estimate.

Need a diagram of a chevy s-10 4 cylinder engine

I am sorry we have no such diagrams here. You can access them at the local GM dealer parts dept, just show them the general area and they can bring up the diagrams that show all the parts and you can then point it out to the parts tech.

1996 Tahoe #2 cylinder plug firing but not getting fuel.

Sounds like the injector is clogged.I had a 1997 tahoe come in with the number 1 cylinder with the same problem and they just had all the injectors replaced 3 months before.I replaced the injector on that cylinder and problem fixed.

Number 2 cylinder in my 99 Tahoe 5.7 l missfires

Check to make sure there is spark from the coil. Check to make sure the plug wire is not leaking. Check the spark plug to see if it is worn out, carbon tracked, or damaged. If those all seem good you can try swapping those parts one at a time with another cylinder to see if the misfire follows. If it does replace the part that caused the other cylinder to misfire. If it doesn't than you could try testing or swapping the fuel injectors. Lastly a compression check of that cylinder may not be a bad idea. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

Im replacing the sarter on a 1987 S-10 Tahoe 4x4 w/2.8L V-6.Im using shims and with or without them I cant get the sarter to stop whining. And no,Im not a mechanic,I just cant afford one right now.

right before you do anything else ,start the engine then take the small wire off with the engine running and see if teh noise stops as it could be a faulty ignition switch and the contact inside the switch isnt releasing ,then leave this post on E mail and if you still need help reply but please remember the itme zone difference .

1996 tahoe , codes are showing random misfire

Do an injector balance test and a cylinder leakage test. Lets make sure its not fuel related. Most important lets make sure you don't have a vacuum leak.

P1153 insufficient switching p0700 1996 tahoe

P0700 - Transmission Control System Malfunction, clear the code and see if it comes back, all this code is, is the TCM (trans control module)
telling the check engine light to come on for a possible trans fault, many times it is a false code and means nothing is wrong unless it has another trans code stored with it like a shift solenoid for instance.

P1153 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Insufficient Switching Bank 2 Sensor 1, You would be pretty safe to assume the O2 sensor for cylinder bank 2 ahead of Cat converter is defective.Bank 2 is the side opposite the bank that #1 cylinder is located in.
