I am confused if you are looking for the firing order or the ignition timing. The firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. The distributor runs clockwise and in order starting at noon = 1. Your PCm will adjust your timing as needed and should not need any adjustment unless you have removed and re-installed the distributor.
No, if you replace one wire at a time then you do not need the firing order. If you have already removed all the wires, then post which engine you have and I will post the firing order.
Click on the following direct Link. It has several Diagrams for your Timing Belt. The Timing Belt Tensioner is what you have to loosen in order to Remove and Replace the Timing Belt. This also shows you the Bolts needed to be removed in order to gain access to the Timing Belt. And the Timing Marks in order to Installation.
The firing order is 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2, distributor turns counter-clockwise. The ignition timing can be set using marks on the vibration damper. The wide mark is TDC (Top Dead Center), each mark after the wide mark represents 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 degrees before TDC. Set timing 3 degrees BTDC (Before Top Dead Center). In addition, valve timingis set like this: Intake opens: 12 degrees BTDC Exhaust Closes: 8 degrees ATDC
Order is 153624 #1 plug is one closest to radiator. #1 tower on cap is one just past the cap hold-down screw (clockwise) furthest away from block. order runs clockwise around cap.(next time, remove them one at a time!!)
assuming you have a 4.0 l6, order is 153624. #1 on cap is at about 4 o'clock when viewed from r/s fender straight on. next time, take wires off one at a time!!!
