How do you know when the air condition pressure pump is not working

It will kick in and out.on the front of the pump is a wheel that will kick on and off when the cutch kicks on and off. If it is not kicking on and off it may need freon added to it or it has a leak somewhere.

Went to pop my bonnet but it would not open, i am not sure if the cable has snapped, is this a big job?

you would know if the cable snaped becasue the relase would be easy to pull and probalby come right out. I am thinking instead that it is the latch mechanism is dirty. you will need two people to opem the bonnet ..one to push down on it or give it a gnetle rap with the meaty part of your hand while the other pulls the relase handle. then clean the latch mechanism with WD40 and lubrlicate with some lithum grease - comes in a sray can. work the mechanism a couple of times and close the bonnet.
good luck

You did not need to remove the heater box to replace the cable. There is a hole in the floor the cable passes through.
