2001 dts stalls 10 minutes after every startup

When does it stall? after driving a little while? A long time. Does it stall often? This is a sign of clogged catalytic converters.

CHECK PLUGS,COILS,AIR FILTER.

Are you meaning to say that it stops and wont start again for 10 minutes?

Do it three times in a row.

1. Perform a security system relearn.
2. Let the vehicle sit for more than 10 minutes with the key off.
3. Attempt to start the engine, leave the key in the run position monitoring the security system indicator.
4. After 10 minutes, the security indicator will change state.
5. Turn the key off and wait 10 seconds.
6. Attempt to start the engine. If the engine stalls, wait another 10 minutes with the key on.
7. After the second 10 minute timer has expired, turn the key off for 10 seconds.
8. Attempt to start the engine. If the engine stalls, wait another 10 minutes with the key on.
9. After the 3rd 10 minute timer has expired, shut the key off for 10 seconds.
10. The security system will relearn on the 4th starting attempt and the engine should start and run.

Just my opinion but it sounds like a fuel pump issue. When the pump gets hot it stops and after you tow it in it has cooled off by then. Tell someone to check the fuel system first. IE: fuel pressure.

I would say it may be the distributor, I would start there first. You may want to try a tune up first to see if it helps and I would definitely get my battery checked out since winter is approaching and it has been run down a few times. hope this helps tim

sounds like the distributor needs replaced

is there any engine warning lights coming on if not when was the last full tune-up, plugs wires all filter's , if not or don't know ty that.

make sure proper grade of oil was fitted check with toyota see if special grade oil is recommended

sounds like gas filder is stoping up
