If coming from under the hood suspect a worn bearing from idler pulley... alternator... PS pump...AC compressor... tensioner pulley. You will need to remove the belt and spin all pulleys by hand to isolate the noisey one

Changed the rear rotors and brake pads and there is a grinding noise

Here is what I have found out. I have an 2008 Toyota Tundra 5.7 4x4, and I changed the rear brakes and rotors. No noise prior to service. After installing new rotors, I started getting a metal scraping noise. After $300.00 in diagnostics, I found that the new rotors are rubbing the against the brake shield. The inner lip of the rotor needs to be machined down to avoid this rubbing. See toyota tundra forum.com for pics.

Why do I have a high piched, whine through my audio system (that seems to align with the engine speed) when I plug my Sirius Sattelite radio into the system's Aux jack and power it with one of the vehicles...

The "noise" is coming from the alternator and is being injected into all powered accessories. Some devices are better at filtering than others.

Best way to eliminate the noise in your audio system is to add a low-pass filter (aka choke filter) on the input power wire to the audio system (red wire?). That will "pass" the noise to ground.

Since the whine is in the 800-5000 cycles per minute, like the engine rpm, you will need a low-pass filter around 5000x60 = 30KHz.

A decent car audio shop can install the proper ampere and frequency filter.
