My 1998 Jeep Wrangler AC. works well for a few minutes and then shuts down and doesn't blow out the vents. Then is seems to blow out the defroster harder. Then after a few minutes it blows out the vents again. I can hear the fan the whole time it's on.

Check for vac leaks. Any small leak can cause erratic vent door operation.

Heater only blowing out defrost vents

Open your hood and find a "T" connector right near the battery. Follow the line down below the battery (you will have to get under the Jeep). You will see that the line plugs into a 3 to 4 inch section of 3/16" tubing that is plugged onto a black in color, plastic box. Use a razor knife and trim off about 1/2" of this 3/16" tubing as it commonly cracks where it fits on the nipple of the black plastic box. The vacuum cannot build pressure properly with these cracks in this tubing, and therefore cause the selector door to malfunction when operating heat and a/c. It is a quick and easy five minute fix.

Check the system for vacuum leaks...All your controls under the dash are vacuum operated and may not work properly under power. Also, find out if the compressor is staying on when you don't have cooling. If there is an internal restriction it may be driving up the high side pressure and shutting the compressor down.Unless you have lots of specific a/c experience, I don't recommend you do much else.

2005 Wrangler X a/c only blows from defroster

Check under your hood for a loose or leaking vac line , The A/C system on your jeep uses manifold vac to move the air mix doors and with no vac the air mix door will move into the defrost position. Find your vac leak and that will fix your problem.

1997 jeep wrangler ac will not blow out of main vents, blow out at feet and defrost vents

Maybe your dashboard vents are clogged, obstructed or stuck in close position somehow.

If not, check the air hoses that carry the cooled air to the main vents are not clogged, bent, ripped or simply detached.
If its practical for you, check if they are correctly placed, clean and general conditions are ok if you can.

If above are not the issue, go to check outlets of the A/C unit, its filters for the possible reason.

Jeep AC blows cold air at defrost and feet but not through vents

There is a flap that directs the air. the flap is controlled by a vacuum actuator. This is located inside the venting. The actuator is connected to little vacuum hoses that attach to the temperature control switch. Either the flap is stuck, or the actuator has gone bad.

95 Jeep Wrangler air vent under the glovebox will not shut off.

Near the gas pedal is a linkage that diverts the air from defrost to front to low by your feet. Sometimes this linkage comes un-done. This could be fixed by holding it in place with a wire-tie. Let me know what you find.
